The Reception Coordinator is a member of the RSD unit’s coordination team. Their responsibilities include scheduling RSD interviews, carrying out negative decision notification, ensuring timely retrieval of physical files from the filing room for upcoming RSD interviews, tracing missing physical files, maintaining accurate updates across databases including proGres, and ensuring the prompt admission of persons of concern to the RSD premises. They will also provide counseling to and respond to queries from asylum seekers and refugees regarding UNHCR's RSD procedures, their rights and obligations, including towards the host authorities, and the status of the processing of their claims. When needed, they may offer interpretation and translation services based on their language competencies. They must demonstrate strong competencies in time management, planning and organization. Given the Level 3 emergency of Sudan situation, they may undertake other activities related to the emergency response. They are required to demonstrate high flexibility, adaptivity and with a field/client-oriented approach. They are expected to contribute to fostering workplace harmony and teamwork. They will report daily to the RSD premises in 6 October City, Giza Governorate. A minimum of 12 months in the current role is required if employed by UNHCR Egypt.
