Contract

How can you make a difference?

UNICEF Laos is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and highly proactive Lao national to fill up the position of Temporary Appointment (TA, 1 year with possibility of extension) Education Officer, NO-A to be based in UNICEF Country Office in Vientiane, Lao PDR. to support our Early Childhood Education (ECE) work. The Education Officer-ECE will be working closely with the Ministry of Education and Sports in the delivery and monitoring of ECE interventions, supporting the capacity development of ECE service providers, and helping raise the demand for quality ECE services. The Education Officer-ECE will also support the development of policies and strategies related to ECE, as well as research and documentation to generate evidence for increased investments in ECE, and support partnerships building.

Education: A university degree in one of the following fields is required: education, psychology, sociology, or another relevant technical field.

Professional experience:

• A minimum of two year of professional experience in programme planning, management, in education or ECE is required.
• Experience working in a developing country is considered as an asset.
• Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset.

Language: Fluency in English and Lao language is required
