How can you make a difference?

This post works with the RSC Market Development Manager to maximize private sector income from PSFR and emerging Country Offices, in particular working with Specialists to support fundraising strategies and priorities for the region. The post holder will lead on budget and financial reporting, participate in the strategic planning process, consolidate and analyze data, provide knowledge management and ensure best practices are effectively shared and implemented to maximize net PSFR revenue in EAP/SA Offices.

Major Duties and Responsibilities******:

  1. Under the supervision of the EAP RSC Market Development Manager, works with existing and emerging PSFR Country Offices to ensure that Private Sector Plans (PSPs) and resulting annual work plans are developed in an appropriate and timely manner. Works with PSFR specialists to ensure that appropriate support is provided to Country Offices. This includes reviewing proposals for UNICEF FDP and Dynamo investment funds. Key End Results: EAP Country Office plans are aligned to global and regional priorities and sustainable net income is maximized.
  2. Monitors and analyzes the PSFR performance of Country Offices identifying strengths/weaknesses and in liaison with RSC specialists, ensures areas for improvement are aligned and progressed. This includes analysis of annual PSFR income and expenditure results by channel, income type and comparison to long term targets. Key End Results: Country Office performance is effectively monitored with lessons learnt and annual improvements made.
  3. Supports knowledge management through the stimulation and dynamic exchange of knowledge across fundraising markets and drives the application of best practice by Country Offices. Stays in touch with latest thinking and trends in PSFR and contributes to UNICEF global fundraising expertise. Key End Results: Knowledge is created, shared and applied to optimize PSFR and Country Offices provide positive feedback on the use of best practice.
  4. Support the Individual Giving Unit in maintaining a dashboard to track detailed performance metrics and diversification efforts, providing insights on regional trends using RDM, SBRM, VISION and other applications. Key End Results: RR and ORR is efficiently raised and maximized from defined Country Offices.

Key functions, accountabilities and related duties/tasks:

Focal point on financial monitoring and analysis for regional and global PSFR oversight

  • Lead oversight of RSC monthly financial reporting and ensures all PFP mandatory reporting by COs are submitted on time and with high quality assurance (QFS, RER, etc.).
  • Recommends corrective measures to COs in relationship to budgets and reporting requirements.
  • Maintains oversight of Dynamo Fund CO processes, utilization, progress monitoring, planning and timely reporting, and repayment for the region.
  • Act as RSC focal point for PFP Finance.

Coordinate annual PSFR planning process and PSP Reviews and CO annual workplans

  • Responsible for coordinating monthly, mid-year and year-end progress updates and workplan reviews with RSC functional specialists and PFP.
  • Review PSPs to ensure highest quality financial and narrative submissions and capture of corrective actions, providing first line of support to COs.
  • Ensure changes in CO structures receive necessary approvals and PBR submissions are made in a timely manner.
  • Lead on progressing status of specialist support for PSFR in the region and follow up on key identified projects, activities and areas of business development.

Lead on Knowledge Management and Capacity Building

  • Ensure ongoing quality development of RSC PSFR knowledge management and ensuring specialists capture of good case practices.
  • Coordinate annual RSC PSFR Master Calendar of Training and Developments in close liaison with Specialists.
  • Co-lead on coordination of PSFR specialist knowledge network exchanges in partnerships, major donor and individual giving.
  • Coordinate regular updates from Specialist Teams and integration of support across MDT and teams.
  • Coordinate Regional Thematic Fund proposal and allocation process for EAP region to ensure quality applications, reports and maximum fund utilization.

Individual Giving Planning, Coordination and Data Analysis

  • Consolidate and prepare market reviews that facilitate annual planning discussion using all available external and internal data sources such as Peer Review, INDIGO, RDM and any relevant additional data sources in the public domain.
  • Project manage all individual giving support projects to the EAPRO and Asia Pacific markets maintaining oversight of progress and ensuring all project members deliver to agreed deadlines.
  • Under supervision of IG Specialist, prepare and deliver strategic data insights and make recommendations using the RDM reports and Power BI analysis at a regional and country office level.
  • Monitor and report on a regional set of fundraising campaign KPIs and dashboards focusing on both the top level key performance metrics and also those specific to key priority channels, such as face to face, telemarketing and digital and DRTV.
  • Present a quarterly set of data and KPIs to the PFP Regional Support Centre in order to stay on track of progress across the region.

Qualifications of Successful Candidate

  • Completion of secondary education with at least 2 years post-secondary specialized training in marketing or fundraising. Bachelor's degree in related field preferable.
  • Minimum 7 years relevant business experience in marketing, fundraising, data analysis or promotional field.
  • Excellent Thai and English both oral and written.
