BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT
To perform specialized and/or standardized policy and programme-related processes and activities to support the effective delivery of assistance packages.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive, within delegated authority):
Under the direct supervision of the Programme Officer this position will be responsible for the following duties:
Programme Implementation Support
1. Assist the School Feeding Programme Officer in implementing school feeding activities in Cox’s Bazar.
2. Provide technical assistance to local government education offices, schools, and teachers to ensure effective delivery of programme activities.
Capacity Strengthening
1. Design and implement initiatives to strengthen the capacity of government education officials and master trainers, focusing on teachers’ professional development in instructional methods and library management.
2. Organize and facilitate training sessions for teachers on Bangla instruction and library activities.
3. Provide Training of Trainers (ToT) and on-site support to teachers on extracurricular initiatives such as Little Doctors and
Little Agriculturists activities.
4. Organize training sessions for education officials and vendors on supply chain management related to the new modality of the government-implemented school feeding programme.
School-Level Support
1. Oversee and monitor school-level training and orientations conducted by trained teachers for schoolchildren.
2. Provide technical and capacity-strengthening support to schools in implementing annual health check-ups, deworming campaigns, health and nutrition sessions, and establishing vegetable gardens in schoolyards.
Coordination and Monitoring
1. Organize quarterly meetings with headteachers and master trainers to review progress, address challenges, and identify support needs.
2. Conduct school visits to monitor and ensure continuation of best practices from the previous WFP-implemented school feeding programme.
3. Establish and maintain strong liaison and coordination with District and Upazila Education Offices to ensure smooth implementation of capacity-strengthening activities.
Special Programme Support
1. Contribute to the implementation of school feeding activities in Rohingya refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar and Bhasan Char.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Education: Completion of University Degree (Bachelor's or equivalent) is required. Education in any relevant field is preferable. Experience: At least 6 years of overall experience in areas related to Primary Education/Related Programme Implementation or other relevant fields. Language: Fluency in spoken and written both in English and Bangla language.
