The Country Programme of Cooperation between the Government of Mozambique and UNICEF (CPD) for 2022-2026 aims to support Mozambique to accelerate efforts towards achieving the targets of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and meeting its commitment to respect, protect and fulfil the rights of children, in line with the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and the Core Commitments for Children in Humanitarian Action. It derives from the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF), 2022–2026 and aligns with the Government Five-Year Plan 2020–2024, the National Development Strategy 2015–2035 and relevant sector policies and programmes.

How can you make a difference?

On behalf of UNICEF, the Country Lead Agency (CLA) for the Nutrition Cluster and in support of the government, the Nutrition Cluster Coordinator (P3 level) will provide leadership and facilitate processes that will ensure a well-coordinated, strategic, adequate, coherent and effective response by participants in the national and sub national nutrition cluster, ensuring neutrality in UNICEF’s role as CLA.

Summary of key functions/accountabilities

• Has overall joint responsibility with development partners for the efficient management and functioning of the nutrition cluster
• Responsible for core cluster functions at national and subnational level as follows:
  • Informing strategic decision-making of the HC/HCT for the humanitarian response
  • Planning and strategy development
  • Information management and dissemination
  • Identify and undertake advocacy activities
  • Monitoring and reporting the implementation of the cluster strategy and results
  • Contingency planning/preparedness for recurrent disasters
  • Accountability to affected populations

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

• An advanced university degree (Masters or higher) in one of the following fields is required: nutrition, public health, nutritional epidemiology, medicine, or other relevant disciplines in social science and development.
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive and relevant professional experience in a developing country in one or more of the following areas is required: nutrition, public health, nutrition planning and management, or maternal, infant and child health/nutrition care, in an emergency context with proven coordination capacity.
• Experience in health/nutrition programme/project development and management in UNICEF is an asset.
• Experience in Cluster Coordination and Leadership within the UN system is an asset.
• Fluency in English AND a Latin language is required. Fluency in Portuguese is a strong asset.
