UNICEF works in some of the world’s toughest places, to reach the world’s most disadvantaged children. To save their lives. To defend their rights. To help them fulfill their potential.

Across 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for everyone.

And we never give up.

For every child, a Champion

UNICEF is looking for a Data and Analytics (Salesforce and GMP) Individual Contractor to support UNICEF’s project to grow on a digital transformation journey to increase revenues and make an impact on children’s lives around the world. You will be supporting the Individual Giving (IG) team, Division of Private Fundraising and Partnerships (PFP), based in Geneva: a highly committed and performance-driven team responsible for overseeing a fundraising program that delivers over one billion dollars of income every year.

UNICEF is one of the most admired organizations globally, impacting the lives of children in almost every country of the world. Your work with UNICEF will enable this life-saving and critical work in the most direct way: by raising money that lets us help the most difficult to reach.

UNICEF is at an exciting time as it expands its digital footprint, and we need great professionals to support this challenge. This role is an opportunity to take UNICEF’s fundraising to the next level. Come and help save and nurture children’s lives.

How can you make a difference?

Recently UNICEF ran a discovery process to define a new Digital Revenue Strategy to accelerate digital growth. Our vision: becoming the largest and most successful non-profit digital fundraising program in the world. PFP IG has responsibility for fundraising directly in multiple markets currently (Middle East and North Africa (MENA) focused currently, but a number of markets expected to increase) through the use of the virtual hub. This gives a unique opportunity to demonstrate how we can work with live markets and take lessons from this to larger markets. The teams responsible for the audience approach, the virtual hub, and the IG data strategy all sit within IG so can be convened to address this challenge.

We need to incorporate a Data and Analytics individual contractor who will provide expertise in Salesforce and GMP (Google Marketing Platform) analytic products, mainly to review the current setup, establish new tracking methodologies for segmentation and online/offline performance measurement, and run pilots in selected markets. The incumbent will be the global subject matter expert for Salesforce and GMP data supporting the Global Data and Insights team and interacting directly with agencies, internal stakeholders, pilot markets, vendors, and major platforms such as Google and Salesforce.

Main Tasks:

  • Analyze current marketing automation journeys in UNICEF country offices and ensure that data implementation and reporting are following global Data & Insights guidelines.
  • Help to manage the CORE and SFMC tracking methodologies for Digital channels.
  • Assist with Salesforce and GMP integration on Big Query and/or Microsoft Azure to enable advanced analytic use cases such as churn analysis and probability scoring.
  • Lead Sales and Marketing Cloud integrations with GA 360 and GA 4 for audience sharing and performance measurement.
  • Guide country offices to ensure they are at the correct stage of readiness for implementation by helping with resource planning, technology, and project process awareness.
  • Understand the technological solution (Google Marketing cloud) in terms of providing optimized supporter journeys, implementing tests, segmentation, data flow, and governance with a view to maximizing supporter engagement.
  • Help offices with initial implementation / go live by providing oversight, support, and guidance on both business and technical aspects.
  • Evaluate and propose requirements for new and existing reporting, analysis, and data models.

  • Understand and categorize user requirements into localized or global core functionality.
  • Provide input into tracking solution design for salesforce and GMP products.
  • Recommend and design a global reporting template for marketing automation across digital channels.
  • Work with the broader analytics team to create an attribution model for the original traffic sources that contributed to offline conversions and repeat subscriptions.
  • Send audiences that are synthesized from multiple data sources back to salesforce and GMP products for omnichannel targeting where required
  • Provide support to the local office before, during, and after going live.

Estimated Duration of the contract and Proposal:

  • 11.5 months, full-time.
