Overview

Lead the strategic development of the Education programme in Bangladesh

You have:

  • 5+ years of experience in Youth Education and Training in the humanitarian field.
  • Experience in policy and strategic guidance implementation.
  • Experience engaging with humanitarian stakeholders.
  • Experience in organizational representation at strategic levels with key donors.
  • Understanding of the Youth sector in Bangladesh.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.

NRC in Bangladesh is looking for an Education Specialist to lead the strategic direction and technical development of the Education programme across the country, which has a particular focus on Youth Education & Training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Bangladesh Education strategy development (focus on Youth Education & Training).
  • Technical guidance provision on Youth Education.
  • Programme development and roll-out of relevant tools, standard operating procedures and guidelines.
  • Programmatic synergies between Youth Education & Training and all other thematic areas.
  • Technical support, mentoring, and capacity building of Education/Youth field staff, and transferring key technical skills.
  • Education and Youth Education assessments and response analyses, and advise the Country Programme.

Required competencies, skills and experience

  • Manager/Specialist/Adviser experience within the field of Youth Education and Training in the humanitarian field.
  • Policy/strategic guidance and implementation experience.
  • Humanitarian stakeholders engagement experience.
  • Organisational representation experience, at a strategic level with key donors and interagency stakeholders.
  • Youth sector in Bangladesh understanding.
  • English fluency, both written and verbal.

  • Duty station: Dhaka, Bangladesh
  • Contract Duration: 12 months
  • Travel: approximately 40%
