How can you make a difference?

Under the general guidance of the Deputy Regional Director, this post is responsible for contributing to the strategy, development, coordination, management, monitoring, and implementation of private sector partnerships – particularly partnerships that leverage the influence, power, reach, and assets of the private sector. The Corporate Alliance Specialist will also provide technical guidance to Country Offices as they seek to fully leverage businesses to accelerate the achievement of program results.

  • Guide, coordinate, and facilitate the development and updating of private sector engagement strategies, guidelines, and tools at regional and country levels.
  • Develop new regional strategic partnerships with the private sector and provide direction and support in the establishment of new high value bilateral and multi-stakeholder partnerships and collaboration in South Asia which mobilize private sector stakeholders to contribute to positive impacts for children through non-financial actions, including influence and advocacy
  • Provide technical guidance and assistance to the Regional Office and Country Offices in South Asia on the development of private sector alliances, and non-financial engagement approaches and activities.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • An advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in Business, Marketing, International Relations, Social Sciences, or related fields *A first University Degree in a relevant field combined with 2 additional years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced University Degree.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant professional and progressive experience in private sector engagement, philanthropy, and corporate social responsibility/sustainability.
  • Knowledge of private sector engagement, philanthropy, and corporate social responsibility/sustainability is required.
  • Experience of directly influencing senior decision-makers at international companies is desirable.
  • Experience working or living in South Asia is an asset
  • Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency is considered an asset.
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
