Contract
This is a UNV contract. More about UNV contracts.
Communities in Basra and southern Iraq are increasingly affected by extreme heat, dust storms, and water scarcity, leading to higher risks of respiratory illnesses, heat stress, and waterborne diseases. Many of these communities include migrants, refugees, and internally displaced persons (IDPs) whose living conditions increase their vulnerability. The upcoming campaign will translate the KAP findings into accessible, community-friendly messages shared across social media platforms by 200 Online Volunteers (OVs). Volunteers will amplify WHO-developed social media cards, infographics, and short videos focused on protecting families’ health amid climate change.
We are seeking Online Volunteers who are proficient in using social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X/Twitter, etc.) to support WHO Iraq’s online campaign for one week under the MMPTF project. The volunteers will support the WHO team in: • Sharing WHO-approved content (social media cards and short videos) related to heat protection, safe water use, and respiratory health. Which will have benefits of : 1. Raising awareness about the health impacts of climate change and how families can adapt and protect themselves. 2. Promoting the importance of community solidarity and practical low-cost coping practices. 3. Encouraging engagement through hashtags and community sharing to increase message visibility. Volunteers will work under the guidance and supervision of the WHO RCCE team, UNV and collaborate with other online volunteers as needed. WHO will provide all approved content and communication materials for posting.
