The volunteer will attend the virtual meeting, accurately and effectively capture its proceedings via his or her preferred method and then produce a written report of the meeting. Specifically, the volunteer will undertake the following tasks: Meet the organizing team virtually prior to the meeting to go over any specific instructions for the meeting, including proposing the volunteer preferred report format/Structure for consensus with the team. Take note of the main findings, conclusions, and recommendations of each presentation made in the meeting. Take note of questions/remarks from the floor which could be of interest for consideration in the meeting report, as well as of the replies given. Develop a comprehensive report of the meeting proceedings with clear action points and recommendations. Produce a brief concise summary/brief report of the forum. Main deliverables are: a comprehensive report of the meeting and a two-pager summary of the meeting.

    In 2019, the Office of the Special Envoy of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission on Women, Peace and Security (OSE) produced the first report of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC) on the implementation of the Women, Peace and Security Agenda in Africa. Through consultations with African Union (AU) Member States, Regional Economic Communities, and civil society, OSE has finalized the preparation of the 2020 report of the Chairperson of AUC on the implementation of the Women, Peace and Security Agenda and proposes to convene a dissemination forum. The overall objective of the forum is to launch and disseminate the 2020 report of the Chairperson of AUC on the implementation of the Women, Peace and Security Agenda and launch the process of developing the 2021 report.

  • 11-20 hours per week / 2 weeks

    At least a master’s degree in gender, peace and conflict studies, Languages, Communication, or any other related field. Demonstrated experience as a rapporteur with capacity in the development, writing, and drafting meeting reports is paramount. Experience with or knowledge of key concepts in women peace and security is required. Excellent oral and written English is paramount and knowledge in French will be considered a key advantage.
