Administered by the United Nations Development Program, UNV was established in 1970 and contributes to peace and development through volunteerism around the world. We work to both mobilize volunteers for the United Nations Systems and to advocate for the importance of volunteerism in development worldwide. More specifically, the UNV Field Unit in Yemen seeks to mobilize and promote volunteerism in the Country to face the ongoing crisis. Through this assignment, the online volunteer will contribute to increasing awareness of the importance of volunteerism and will provide support to the serving UN Volunteers in Yemen. The Online Volunteer contribution will be acknowledged the issuance of a Certificate.

The UNV Field Unit in Yemen is looking for 1 online volunteer to support the UNV Yemen in the area of Promoting Online Volunteering among local NGOs in Yemen. - Understand the difference between the Onsite and the Online Volunteering services by reading from the UVP link https://explore.unv.org/resources/ - Understand the UNV Online Volunteering (OV) service by attending the induction training by the online volunteering focal point. - Understand the methods of promoting OV in Yemen by attending the induction training by the UNV Country Coordinator - In cooperation with OCHA list the NGOs who are partners for UN agencies and organize a virtual webinar for a joint presentation by Country Coordinator and OV Regional Focal Point. - Provide support to mangers and staff of NGOs to register for OV service if they are eligible. - Prepare monthly reports on progress. - The target is that at least 10 NGOs will register to have OV service during Oct, Nov and Dec 2023

The online volunteers need to have a degree in Communication, English language, Translation International Business, Economics, Arts, IT or related areas and should be familiar with the Yemeni context, have general experience with activities related to development and project management and needs to be fluent in Arabic and English language languages.
