Result of Service - Submit a detailed report of the activities carried out at the end of the assignment, highlighting any lessons learnt and recommendations for improvement. - Support the Field Office PTR and Engineering to produce joint regular site visit monitoring reports. - Backstop the Field Office PTR and Engineering activities to support training and orientation of IPs and reporting on such activities with any challenges and recommendations.

Duties and Responsibilities The Individual Local consultants will be responsible for supporting project proposal review and the civil work activities during project implementation as follows: - Review available project proposals to ensure conformity with the QIPs SOP, project design drawings and specifications and analyze bill of quantities to ensure accuracy of cost estimates. - Provide additional training to implementing partners and orientation sessions to potential IPs in project development and implementation. - Monitor project implementation by supporting site visits and assessments, ensuring quality assurance to achieve timely project completion. - Conduct inspection visits, ascertain project completion, and prepare project completion certificates. - Assist IPs in developing construction or renovation bill of quantities and drawings.

Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree/Higher Diploma in Civil Engineering, Building Construction any other related University degree or equivalent

Experience: At least two years working with community small-scale construction infrastructure projects in South Sudan. Experience in monitoring and supervision of small -scaled community projects. Good command of MS Office applications, (Word and Excel)

Language: Fluency in both written and spoken English is required. Knowledge of Arabic would be an advantage

Additional Information Organizational Setting and Reporting Lines:

The consultants will work under the overall oversight of the Chief of Protection, Transition and Reintegration (PTR) Section and PTR/QMT Team Leader, The Individual Local consultants will cover all the ten states of South Sudan, as outlined below:

1 WBG, Warrap, NBG, Based in Wau 2 CES, Lakes, Jonglei, Based in Juba 3 Upper Nile, Unity, Based in Malakal 4 WES, EES, Based in Torit

The Individual Local Consultant will have dual reporting lines, for the day-to-day work of the consultant in each state, he/she will report to the Field Office Engineer to support their work. The technical and logistical support will be provided by the respective PTR field office QIPS focal points and supported by the QMT Civil Engineer.
