Scope of work
The Information Management Officer will be responsible for supporting the Protection Working Group's data and information needs while also providing capacity-building support to the Information Management Officer within the IRC Integrated Protection Department. Additionally, the IMO will play a key role in the transition to the new Protection Working Group (PWG) Information Management Officer, building capacity and providing assistance to the incoming position. Furthermore, the IMO will support the PWG Coordinator by serving as the Acting Coordinator when necessary.
The IMO will work on a full-time basis to fulfill the ToR's responsibilities. The work may involve field visits and interaction with partners to gather and share information, when situation allows otherwise it could be done with in the IRC Erbil office that providing assistance to Northeast Syria program. The capacity-building support for the IMO within the IRC Integrated Protection Department will be conducted through regular training sessions and hands-on guidance. The position will report to the relevant supervisor in the Protraction Working Group and the IRC Integrated Protection Department as well if necessary.
This ToR and Scope of Work outline the key expectations and responsibilities for the Information Management Officer and reflect the collaborative nature of their role in supporting data-driven decision-making and enhancing the capacity of the IMO in the Integrated Protection Program Department, as well as aiding in the transition to the new PWG IMO and supporting the PWG Coordinator when required.
The Information Management Officer (IMO) is responsible for supporting the Protection Working Group (PWG) in collecting, analyzing, and disseminating protection-related information and data. The IMO will work closely with the PWG coordinator, the Protection Whole of Syria Protection Sector, and other protection actors to ensure that the protection information management needs are met and aligned with the humanitarian response plan and the protection cluster strategy. This post will be short term consultancy job to deliver the below listed role and responsibilities.
Deliverables:
1- Data Collection and Analysis:
- Collect, organize, and analyze data relevant to the Protection Working Group's activities. - Ensure data accuracy, quality, and timeliness. - Generate reports and visualizations to support decision-making.
2- Information Sharing:- Facilitate the timely and accurate sharing of information within the Protraction Working Group. - Collaborate with partners to exchange data and reports. - Maintain an updated repository of resources and documents.
3- Capacity Building:
- Conducting a needs assessment to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the IRC IP program and PWG data management systems in data management. Identify areas for skill development and facilitate training sessions. - Developing a capacity building plan based on the needs assessment results, including objectives, activities, resources, timelines, and indicators. - Provide guidance and mentorship to the IMO within the IRC Integrated Protection program Department and PWG information management system. - Delivering training and coaching sessions on data management topics, such as data collection methods, tools, analysis techniques, visualization skills, reporting formats, etc. - Providing ongoing technical support and feedback to the department staff on data management issues. - Monitoring and evaluating the progress and impact of capacity building activities.
4- Technical Support:
- Assist in the management of information systems and tools used by the Protection Working Group. - Troubleshoot technical issues and ensure data security.
5- Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare regular reports on data findings and trends. - Document best practices and lessons learned. - Maintain records of data sources and methodologies.
6- Collaboration and Coordination:
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders, including UN agencies, NGOs, and governmental bodies. - Attend meetings and share updates on information management efforts. - Support the alignment of information systems within the IRC Integrated Protection program Department.
Additional Role:
The IMO will also play a critical role in the transition to the new Protraction Working Group (PWG) Information Management Officer. They will assist in building capacity and providing support to the incoming position. Furthermore, the IMO will support the PWG Coordinator by serving as the Acting Coordinator when necessary.
Supervisor:
The supervisor for this position will be the Protection Working Group Coordinator, and work closely with IRC IP program department to be able to deliver the necessary supports mentioned above here.
Qualifications
