Duties and Responsibilities 1) Provide assistance in maintaining UNSCOL’s website and social media platforms that may include the following tasks:

o Provide specialized assistance in the production and delivery of information communications products and services. o Prepare creative content in English and Arabic that is adapted for each social media platform and tailored to UNSCOL’s mandate; o Manage, update and further develop UNSCOL web site, to include drafting and editing content and creating multimedia products. o Compile and present basic information for use in the preparation and production of communications products/services. o Using relevant computer software, create designs in appropriate format for promotional and other material, e.g. brochures, presentational materials, announcements, video and audio etc.; ensure that photos, graphics, etc. are appropriate and conform to UN standards for print materials. o Maintain a schedule of upcoming international days and global campaigns that should be reflected on UNSCOL platforms; o Prepare visuals, including infographics, to be included with posts, editing them to the correct format when necessary and that promote UNSCOL activities; o Post or schedule content using social media tools; o Monitor and analyze web analytics and social media analytics and provide detailed reports. o Identify new developments, issues and trends in digital media and advise on appropriate action/responses. o Oversee the distribution of audio and video materials; ensure the good management of the film/video archives

2) Provide assistance in various monitoring and research functions: o Contribute to UNSCOL’s daily media monitoring, with a focus on social media platforms. Monitor the latest developments and trends emerging on social media. o Compile and produce for media and public distribution basic information on the spectrum of UNSCOL’s activities o Research and incorporate into the daily public information functions the use of innovative digital tools. o Research diverse print and electronic information sources for topics and materials for projects; suggest ideas on content, audio excerpts, design elements, etc.; o Generate a variety of standard and non-standard statistical and other reports from various databases.

3) Provide assistance in covering events and meetings and outreach activities that may include the following tasks: o Assist in organizing and executing special events, coordinating with diverse partners and the media to highlight and publicize key events. o Compile summaries of content in a format that is tailored to external audiences; o Capture short video messages from experts that highlight key messages; o Support the drafting of press releases and/or news stories based on collected multimedia content; o Prepare engaging content and powerpoint presentations for youth outreach

4) Perform other duties as assigned by the Public Information Officer or UNSCOL’s Chief of Staff.

Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: Five years of experience in public communication, broadcasting or related area is required. Experience providing specialized assistance in the production, editing and promotion of platform-optimized social media assets is required. Experience researching a broad scope of social media content for target audiences is desirable. Language: Fluency in Arabic and English are required; fluency in French is desirable.
