Eligibility criteria
Minimum age: 22 years old. Applicants must be nationals of or legal residents in the country of assignment.
Description of task
Under the direct supervision of Communicable Diseases Control Technical officer the national UN Volunteer Public Health Officer will undertake the following tasks:
- Assist and coordinate all assigned activities related to control and prevention of communicable diseases; (e.g):hepatitis elimination activities, Blood safety and injection safety, HIV/AIDs & TB tasks, NTDs activities,…etc. in alliance with WHO standards and guidelines.
- Coordinate the activties with different stakeholders & facilitate communication between WCO & relevant focal points at MoHP and facilitate smooth projects information flow on activities between MoHP and other involved national institutions and partners.
- Ensure achievement of the agreed tasks and targets.
- Preparation of draft for materials such as brochures, fact sheets, presentations and press releases that are used to spread information related to a specific health issue.
- Carrying out desktop research, using a range of methods and sources of data.
- Support in preliminary drafting of any updates in relevant national guidelines, materials and tools related to communicable diseas.
- Regular documenintging and archiving of meeting minutes, official letters & requests and reports to ensure alignment of the program activities with the different projects’ objectives.
- Working as Monitoring and Evaluation for the activities.
Qualifications/Requirements
Required degree level:
Bachelor degree or equivalent
Education - Additional Comments:
- The potential candidate should hold a bachelor degree in medicine and surgery, recently or freshly graduated, preferably with an experience of 2 years in developmental field.
- Preferably had an experience in contributing in community development services or actiivties.
- Preferably hold a master degree in public health.

- Have a good experience in Microsoft office and entry level experience to some statistical analysis packages.
- Able to communicate effectively and work in teams.
- Good Organizational Skills & ability to work under stress.
- English fluency is a must.
