We are looking for one online volunteer to support the IOM Kenya Migration Health team with carrying out quantitative and qualitative data analysis of available DSH indicators related to human mobility. All communication and collaboration between the online volunteer and other team members will take place through e-mail and Skype calls. The online volunteer shall regularly send status updates about the work to the supervisor. Moreover, the volunteer may occasionally be requested to participate in team meetings over Skype. The selected online volunteer will have the opportunity to engage with a wide range of research tasks to support monitoring and impact evaluations.

    IOM is working on DHS dataset to start generating information on the movement of people in the region to inform public health programming and policy. During COVID, information on movement is of critical importance to forecast epidemic spread internally and across borders. IOM intends to use the DSH data to identify proxy factors for health vulnerability among people on the move to better inform preparedness and response plans during outbreaks and strengthen policy toward migration-sensitive health system.

  • 6-10 hours per week / 6 weeks

    1. Degree in statistics, biostatistics or related field 2. Experience in complex data collection, analysis, statistics in health sector 3. Previous experience with IOM 4. Proven experience on DHS data analyses 5. Excellent analytical and strategical thinking skills 6. Use of quantitative software such as STATA, R, SPSS and/or similar; Qualitative software: MAXQDA, NVIVO and Atlas STI and Mobile phone data collection systems: ODK and dooblo. 7. Solid traditional computer skills
