Purpose of the Job:
The Norwegian Refugee Council Protection Unit has been operational since 2018 and specialized in general protection and protection of civilians using community based approach. NRC is Afghanistan is starting a new component of its programme, protection case management that focuses on using the case management approach to provide comprehensive support to adults at heightened protection risks outside of Child protection (CP) and Gender Based Violence (GBV).
The Protection officer – case-worker will be responsible to identify cases, work closely with adults at high risk of harm and provide them case management services according to standardized procedures and protocols. The Protection officer - caseworker will work from case management office in the field and receive and visit cases referred to them, assess their needs and provide them with support as per the action plan developed, ensuring regular follow up. The officer will also be responsible to coordinate with service providers to ensure support the cases. The officer will be working closely with the protection coordinator – case management supervisor.
