Protection Coordinator Myanmar Yangon (Myanmar National Only)
Contract
This is a Professional contract, Grade 7 (NRC) contract. More about Professional contract, Grade 7 (NRC) contracts.
Background
The humanitarian situation across Myanmar continues to deteriorate as more than 1.7 million people are displaced and many more are affected by armed conflict, human rights violations, natural disasters and other forms of violence, discrimination and deprivation. People are spiralling into further debt and vulnerability as the economic situation deteriorates and movement restrictions continue to be in place, while family links and social networks are disrupted by displacement. These conditions have pushed people to resort to highly risky strategies to cope with their situation, enable their freedom of movement or search for opportunities and a brighter future. People resorting to some of those strategies are at risk of human trafficking, exposing them to grave violations of their rights and unspeakable forms of violence, exploitation and abuse. All the while, humanitarian organisations are facing increasing access restrictions, and are forced to navigate parallel and competing administrative structures.
