****About the Job**
The overall purpose of the role is to provide Arabic-Turkish Turkish-Arabic translation phone services to facilitate communication between refugees, service providers (particularly health providers), host community members, and other actors in need of on-the-spot translation services on a daily basis, and to help ensure access to services through this service.
Sector responsibilities: Advocacy for the rights of displaced people in their context of displacement, child protection initiatives, individual protection assistance based on vulnerability, legal aid, land & property rights, sexual and gender-based violence prevention, registration services for the internally displaced and refugees, monitoring of rights and rights awareness-raising, facilitation of return and repatriation processes.
Geographic scope: Hatay Field Office
This role has an area focus and ensures compliance to DRC procedures and guidelines within the area. The role contributes to the development of country strategies, which are translated into action plans and day-to-day tasks.
Main responsibilities
- Provide daily phone translation/interpretation services from Arabic to Turkish and Turkish to Arabic for refugees to facilitate communication with local authorities, health and social services and other private or nongovernmental service providers etc.;
- Ensure use of best interpretation practices, following complexity, clarity, tone, and style from one language into another, upholding the correct rules for grammar and syntax in both languages;
- Provide strict renditions of the messages including all the necessary detail of interpret4ed conversations;
- Employ good customer service and communication skills, using clear enunciation, pronunciation, pleasant and professional voice as well as polite forms of expressions;
- Document all calls through continuously updated trackers, and provides updated information to IM/Grants teams as needed;
- Identify and ensure that calls falling outside the scope and purpose of the hotline (such as emergency calls, issues related to complaints/COC violations, or serious protection issues) are properly channeled to the correct service providers or DRC departments

To be successful in this role, you must have diploma or equivalent professional qualification
