You have:
- Master’s degree in Climate Change, Environmental Management, Development Studies, Rural Development, or related fields.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in project management, particularly in resilience, NRM, and rural livelihoods.
- Proven experience managing multi-sectoral, multi-stakeholder donor-funded programmes.
- Solid understanding of Zimbabwe’s environmental and resilience frameworks.
- Fluency in English and one local language (Shona or Ndebele).
- Application of resilience principles and landscape approaches in programme implementation.
- Advanced MEAL and results-based management skills.
- Proficiency in participatory planning, gender inclusion, and conflict-sensitive programming.

Job Purpose
The job of the project manager will request overall management of a complex consortia including international and local partners, private sector and governmental stakeholder liaison to ensure qualitative implementation of long-term actions in 3-4 districts with specific focus on integrated exit strategy and sustainability of achieved objectives, allowing accountability of affected populations to graduate from poverty. The project manager will carry out team management, donor and partner liaison, further strategic development and provision of learning insights in close coordination with complementing ZRBF partners and advisors.
Roles/ Responsibilities
Programme Strategy, Planning, and Coordination
- Lead development and alignment of programme strategies with ZRBF 2 goals, resilience principles, and landscape approaches.
- Coordinate annual planning, work plan formulation, and result framework with partners.
- Ensure risk-informed, gender-responsive, and climate-smart approaches are embedded in design.
Implementation Oversight and Results Delivery
- Lead and supervise activity implementation across four key result areas (IR1–IR4).
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshoot implementation bottlenecks.
- Ensure integration of natural resource management, livelihood, and climate adaptation efforts.
Stakeholder Engagement and Partnerships
- Foster partnerships with government (e.g., RDCs, EMA, ZimParks), NGOs, private sector, and communities.
- Facilitate stakeholder mapping and multi-actor coordination platforms.
- Ensure active participation of women, youth, and marginalized groups in governance.
Knowledge Management, Learning, and Innovation
- Oversee documentation and dissemination of lessons learned and best practices.
- Promote use of the Resilience Knowledge Hub for evidence-based programming.
- Coordinate periodic reflection and learning events with partners and communities.
Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Reporting
- Ensure robust MEAL frameworks, tools, and indicator tracking.
- Lead quarterly progress reviews, after-action reviews, and donor reporting.
- Monitor outcome-indexed capacities in food security, poverty, and adaptive capacity.
Financial and Operational Management (10%)
- Oversee budget execution, procurement, and financial accountability.
- Ensure value for money and compliance with donor guidelines.
- Supervise asset and contract management procedures.
Governance, Policy Engagement, and Advocacy
- Facilitate development of by-laws, community agreements, and policy inputs.
- Engage in district and national policy forums on climate resilience and resource governance.
- Advocate for integration of resilience and ecosystem management into local development plans
Team Leadership and Capacity Building Key
- Supervise project staff and the implementing partners’ technical teams.
- Facilitate ongoing training in landscape governance, resilience programming, and M&E.
- Promote a culture of inclusion, accountability, and excellence.
Knowledge/ Qualifications
