The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the United Nations system’s designated entity for addressing environmental issues at the global and regional level. Its mandate is to coordinate the development of environmental policy consensus by keeping the global environment under review and bringing emerging issues to the attention of governments and the international community for action.

The Green Growth Knowledge Partnership (GGKP) is co-hosted by UNEP in partnership with the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI). These organizations serve as the joint host of the GGKP Secretariat (www.greengrowthknowledge.org) on behalf of the GGKP Steering Committee (UNEP, GGGI, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, United Nations Industrial Development Organization, and the World Bank). The GGKP is a global network of over 90 international organisations, research institutes and non- governmental organisations focused on promoting a green economy transition by:

GGKP has received funding from the EU to support the enhancement of circular economy knowledge generation, management and sharing globally over a period of three years from 2023 (EU Funded Action “Accelerating the global transition to a green and circular economy”). To achieve this objective GGKP aims to ensure a clear alignment between those stakeholders that, 1) produce knowledge, 2) provide enabling policy environment and financial supports, and 3) those that are the end-users of the same. A key component of GGKP’s related activities will be the development of a network of circular economy initiatives, both to enhance the exchange of circular economy knowledge and support SMEs access tailored knowledge on resource efficiency through the I-GO initiative.

A consultant is sought to provide support to GGKP for the implementation of the EU funded circular economy project, including on circular economy knowledge management, research, outreach and communications related to the policy, finance and industry communities.
