Organizational Setting

This position is located in FAO office in Hyderabad (Tando Jam), Sindh province, Pakistan. The main aim of the FAO country offices, which are headed by an FAO Representative, is to assist governments to develop policies, programmes and projects to achieve food security and to reduce hunger and malnutrition, to help develop the agricultural, fisheries and forestry sectors and to use their environmental and natural resources in a sustainable manner.

The position is at SB 3-SC 6 level.

Reporting Lines

Under the overall supervision of the FAO Representative in Pakistan and Provincial International Program Coordinator, position will report on a day to day basis to the Project Coordinator GRASP, and work closely with the sector specialists of FAO Sindh team for horticulture and livestock value chain development.

Technical Focus

The purpose of this assignment consists in reporting along with planning and executing in Communications and coordination under GRASP project across all districts. To facilitate programme team for market linkages in Sindh.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Consolidate biannual, annual donor reports and collect MoV’s • Assist in work plan consolidation/development and reporting. • Assist GRASP manager and PC in organizing meetings with different stakeholders. • Participate and prepare minutes of meetings held with different stakeholders. • Provide support in organizing different consultations at provincial and district level. • Follow up with communication focal person in Sindh and with communications team in Islamabad for GRASP coordination. • Provide support in private sector engagement. • Assist in establishing and maintaining database for private sector. • Plan and Participate in the multi-stakeholder’s workshop regarding private sector engagement for each cluster in coordination with DTLs and sectoral specialists. • Provide inputs in analyses of the latest economic and other relevant developments in the country. Including in the context of export-oriented MSMEs in the agribusiness sector. • In collaboration with the Team Leads and sectoral specialists, consolidate the district inputs for developing business plans in accordance with the scope of the project approach. • Support the development of infographics and innovative public outreach and engagement tools in coordination with Communication team. • Perform any other task assigned by the supervisor.

CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING

Minimum Requirements

• Master’s degree in Agri-Business/marketing • Minimum 5 years’ experience in coordination, communication, especially marketing aspects, preferably with the private sector. • Working knowledge (Level C) of English and fluency in Urdu. Knowledge of other languages used in Sindh province is an asset. • National of Pakistan.
