You have:
- Master's degree in Social Sciences or related subject(s) required.
- At least 3 years of experience in managing vocational (Livelihood) training programs required.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English required.
- Fluency in local languages will be an asset.
- Demonstrated understanding of complex emergencies, related security concerns, and appropriate responses with experience in insecure environments required.
- Excellent report-writing skills required.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, following procedures, meeting deadlines, and independent problem-solving required.
- Effective verbal communication skills required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The Project Officer will be responsible, in conjunction with the Senior Livilihood Officer, for implementing the vocational training component of Project at GVI Quetta that will provide vocational skills training to female Afghan refugees and host communities:
- Support the selection committee in identifying the recipients of vocational training in target locations of Quetta and among the Afghan refugee and host communities.
- Developing an appropriate training package, in collaboration with the GVI Quetta for the target participants.
- Coordinate with Principal GVI Quetta for smooth implementation of vocational training in GVI Quetta.
- Ensuring recipients are linked with local markets and have adequate knowledge to make market-based decisions
- Ensure that objectives and indicators as outlined in the grant agreement are met in time.
- Work closely with MEL to ensure necessary data and indicators related to the vocational training component of the project are being tracked.
- Support the selection committee in identifying the graduates of vocational training from all trades among the Afghan refugee and host communities for the provision of cash grants for business purposes.
- Ensure the availability of data of graduated trainees (female) who have successfully secured the job.
- Follow all MC SOPs on Safety and Security while conducting the activities in the assigned areas of catchment of Population (GVI) Quetta/ community/ MC office)
- Attend all refresher training sessions and meetings with other members of the project as required.
- Conduct herself professionally and personally in such a manner as to bring credit to Mercy Corps and in no way jeopardize its humanitarian efforts.
- Other relevant duties as assigned.

Reports Directly To: Senior Project Officer Livelihood
Works Directly With: Program Team, Operations, Finance and MEL departments
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
Master's degree in Social Sciences or related subject(s) Experience in managing vocational training programs. At least 03 years’ experience in managing vacational (Livelihood) training programs. Excellent report-writing skills required. Track record of maintaining liaison with governmental and non-governmental partners. Proficiency in written and spoken English. Fluency in local languages will be an asset. Demonstrated understanding of complex emergencies, related security concerns, and appropriate responses with experience in insecure environments. Demonstrated attention to detail, following procedures, meeting deadlines, and independent problem-solving. Effective verbal and written communication and experience with Microsoft Office applications.
