Organizational Setting and Reporting Relationship

The position of Project Officer is assigned to the Transport Sector Office (SG-TRA) within the Sectors Group (SG). You will be based at the Sri Lanka Resident Mission (SLRM) Office.

You will report to the Director, Transport or designated International Staff in the Transport sector office. You will have a matrix reporting to the Country Director, SLRM or designated International Staff and will oversee administrative staff within the division.

Your Role

As a Project Officer (Transport), you will provide technical and operational support in project and TA administration, processing, and implementation in the transport sector, provide sector analyses for Country Partnership Strategy (CPS), country programming mission (CPM) and country portfolio review mission (CPRM), and policy analyses and dialogues. At this level, the incumbent is expected to take the assigned accountabilities as appropriate to the position, and should be able to demonstrate thorough, substantial, and diverse experience, ability to undertake a variety of assignments, and to generally work independently or with a team under minimal supervision.

Additional Information

ADB will be rolling-out a new job grading structure on 1 January 2025, which may result in a change of the position grade and title with no change in the terms of reference. This opening is a local staff position. It is open only to nationals and residents of Sri Lanka.

This is a fixed term appointment with an option to renew for an initial period of 3 years following Section 3.1 (b) of Administrative Order No. 2.01 ("Recruitment and Appointment'). This appointment is not convertible to a regular appointment. It may be extended on an exceptional basis for a further fixed period at the option of ADB. This appointment is open to internal and external applicants.
