**OVERVIEW** ------------ Post Number : SHS/PA 034 Grade : P-3 Parent Sector : Social and Human Sciences Sector (SHS) Duty Station: Paris Job Family: Social and Human Sciences Type of contract : Project Appointment Duration of contract : 1 year Recruitment open to : Internal and external candidates Application Deadline (Midnight Paris Time) : 25-JUL-2022 UNESCO Core Values: Commitment to the Organization, Integrity, Respect for Diversity, Professionalism **OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POST** ----------------------------------------- Under the overall authority of the Assistant Director-General for Social and Human Sciences (ADG/SHS), and the direct supervision of the Chief of the Sport Section (SHS/SPR), the Project Officer will be responsible for providing professional and technical support in the preparation, implementation and follow-up of the Seventh International Conference of Ministers and Senior Officials Responsible for Physical Education and Sport (MINEPS VII), to be held in Baku, Azerbaijan from 14 to 17 March 2023. The Project Officer will carry out all tasks in close consultation with the competent authorities of Azerbaijan, the host country of MINEPS VII, including most notably the Ministry of Sport. Coordination and regular liaison with a broad range of stakeholders involved in the MINEPS VII programme, the members and observers of the Intergovernmental Committee for Physical Education and Sport (CIGEPS) and its two working groups, as well as with the relevant UNESCO departments will also be required as part of the Conference preparations and follow-up. The Project Officer will be responsible for the direct supervision of a contractor to support with the administrative and logistical preparations of the Conference, as well as programme interns.
