Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is an international non-governmental organization, which promotes and supports durable solutions to the problems faced by refugees and internally displaced people all over the world.

DRC Ukraine is looking for a highly qualified Project Officer (Procurement) based in Kyiv.

Overall purpose of the role

The Protection Officer (Procurement) is responsible for providing technical and day-to-day support for implementing national program activities. The position holder contributes towards supporting, cooperating and liaising with key stakeholders relevant to the project. The position holder is the LAU focal person responsible to comply with DRC procedures and guidelines on procurement-related processes and event organizing.

Main responsibilities:

  • In close cooperation with the national LAU team (including Project Team Leader, Protection Specialist) provide technical support in the organization of the activities envisaged by the program;
  • Ensure establishing liaison and maintain contact lists and correspondence with key vendors of goods and services needed for project implementation;
  • Support the Protection Project Manager in activities related to the implementation of training activities under the Legal Aid program;
  • Be the focal person for the technical organization of all field-based networking events, round tables and other advocacy events;
  • Cooperate with and act as the national LAU focal person for liaising with DRC Logistic/Procurement teams;
  • Cooperate with and act as the national LAU focal person for liaising with DRC Finance department while performing procurement-related processes and event management;
  • Support in drafting procurement-related documentations;
  • Finalize layout of the information and analytical materials with DRC Communication department for proceeding with printing procurement;
  • Support with occasional document translation and provide interpretation support during meetings, trainings, and other program activities;
  • Attend and participate in relevant coordination meetings of LAU, implementing partners and other relevant stakeholders;
  • Any other functions to be assigned by the Protection Project Manager, Project Team Leader, Protection Specialist related to procurement and event management processes;
  • Comply with all relevant DRC policies and procedures, particularly with respect to procurement, and security;
  • Understand, and ensure the observance of the DRC Code of Conduct.

Required experience and competencies

  • Diploma in Finance, Business Administration or equivalent professional qualification will be an asset;
  • At least 1-year experience in similar job, preferably in an NGO sector;
  • Basic knowledge in understanding of possible durable solutions for conflict-affected population;
  • Good communication and organization skills;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs;
  • Full working proficiency in both oral and written English, Ukrainian and Russian (equally important).

Contract length: 3 months (extension subject to funding)

Start date: October 2022
