You have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Demography, Social Sciences, or any other related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) roles.
- Experience in developing and managing databases using MS Access, Excel and survey processing packages such as CSPro.
- Strong experience in developing M&E plans, results frameworks, research protocols, and conducting research and evaluations.
- Knowledge and experience in statistical analysis packages such as STATA and SPSS.
- Experience in documentation, knowledge management systems, and facilitating learning events.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse and present complex information clearly and effectively.
- Strong understanding of gender and equity analyses.
- Proven experience in supervising, coaching, and mentoring staff.
- Excellent communication, report writing, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
- Politically and culturally sensitive, with qualities of patience, tact, and diplomacy.
- Strong commitment to Save the Children’s values, child safeguarding, and child rights programming.
- Ability and willingness to travel to field locations when required.
The Opportunity
Save the Children is seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Officer (MEAL & Advocacy) – Power of Nutrition Project to support the implementation of the Kulimbikitsa Anthu Kupatsa Ana Tsogolo Lowala (KAKATL) project in Ntcheu and Balaka districts. The five-year programme, implemented in partnership with GiveDirectly and IFPRI, aims to address the root causes of chronic malnutrition and improve early childhood development outcomes among vulnerable communities in Malawi.
The Project Officer (MEAL & Advocacy) – Power of Nutrition Project will provide technical leadership in monitoring, evaluation, accountability, learning, research, documentation, and advocacy for the project. The role holder will coordinate the design and implementation of project monitoring systems and databases, support evidence generation and learning, and ensure timely reporting in line with donor and organisational requirements. The position will also play a critical role in strengthening advocacy initiatives, community accountability mechanisms, and knowledge management systems to improve nutrition, social protection, and ECD outcomes.
Working closely with the PoN Project Manager, District Project Coordinators, and the Regional MEAL team, the Project Officer (MEAL & Advocacy) – Power of Nutrition Project will contribute to quality programme implementation, cross-learning, and evidence-based decision making across the project.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated MEAL professional who is passionate about child wellbeing, evidence generation, and strengthening systems that contribute to improved nutrition and early childhood development outcomes for children and communities in Malawi.
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder may be required to work outside the normal role profile and vary working hours accordingly.
