Project Officer-Food Security & Livelihood
The Role Summary
Provide technical support and guidance to project implementation teams and support partners during implementation, support capacity building of partner staff on quality programme delivering, support of CBDRM training, Regular context monitoring and ensure that there is compliance to Donor and World Vision requirements /guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Coordination and Engagement with Government, implementing partner and other key stakeholders
- Liaise with implementing partners to ensure effective capacity building for early warning committees and facilitate smooth execution of activities.
- Train internally displaced persons (IDPs) on smart farming techniques to mitigate food insecurity.
- Collaborate closely with implementing partner and the state Ministry of Livestock to align strategies and ensure the successful implementation of the AART Project.
- Ensure project activities effectively reach the intended target population through regular monitoring and evaluation processes.
- Foster relationships with other World Vision Programs in Wajid district to enhance collaboration and resource-sharing initiatives.
- Work with community animal health workers (CAHWs) to provide training for livestock treatment campaigns.
- Participate in all project assessments and learning activities, documenting outcomes and lessons learned to inform future programming strategies.
Capacity building for CBDRM and Partner staff
- Facilitate the assessment and implementation of training needs for communities and partner staff to ensure effective support for project objectives.
- Deliver comprehensive training and mentoring to partner staff on project goals and World Vision policies while enhancing community capacity to implement resilience activities.
- Conduct training sessions for Community-Based Disaster Risk Management (CBDRM) Committees and local stakeholders on participatory early warning systems and sustainable mitigation measures to boost local engagement.
Monitoring & Reporting
- Assist the Project Manager/Coordinator and district teams in planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating approved activities, including cash-for-work initiatives.
- Collect and submit project implementation progress photos and compile comprehensive monitoring reports, including site updates and statistical data and other best practices.
- Actively participate in donor missions, national office visits, and periodic project reviews to ensure alignment with objectives and share insights on project progress.
- Prepare monthly progress reports to support the Project Manager/Coordinator, collect human impact stories throughout the project cycle, and process beneficiary payments efficiently.

Working Environment
- Office-based in Wajid, South West State with domestic travel required based on need
