IQE is responsible for wide range of programme areas, namely (i) Education 2030 regional coordination, (ii) education policy, planning and management, (iii) ICT in Education (iv) basic education from early childhood to the secondary level, (v) inclusive education and gender equality, (vi) quality of education, and (vii) HIV prevention and health promotion. In line with UNESCO's global strategy, IQE is emphasizing gender mainstreaming in all programmes. Within diverse IQE programmatic areas, the selected consultant will mainly contribute to the programme area of education policy, planning and management (EPM) especially the following extra-budgetary projects (*201PHI1000: Technical Assistance for Philippines Bangsamoro Education Reform and Development Plan (BERDP) Preparation*; *526RAS1030: Costing and Financing SDG4-Education 2030 in the Asia-Pacific Region*), but will also have opportunities to contribute as required to activities under other programme areas such as ICT in Education and Education 2030 regional coordination. Long Description ---------------- **DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** ------------------------------- Under the overall authority of the Director of UNESCO Asia-Pacific Regional Bureau for Education, the direct supervision of the Chief of Section Inclusive Quality Education (IQE), and the daily guidance of the Team Leader of Education Planning and Management (EPM), the Individual Specialist shall be responsible for supporting the implementation of the biennium programme activities and projects on Education Planning and Management. This includes providing technical support on education policy, education sector planning, financing of education, capacity development to Member States, as well as contributing to the development and preparation of new projects and partnerships that support development in system strengthening of education system in the region. Specifically, the incumbent will perform the following duties: 1\. Support implementation and monitoring of regional education policy, planning and management programmes and projects especially to provide technical advice and advocacy to the development of relevant national education sector plans and relevant capacity development activities to the extra-budgetary projects on: a) 526RAS1030: Costing and Financing SDG4-Education 2030 in the Asia-Pacific Region; b) 201PHI1000: Technical Assistance for Philippines Bangsamoro Education Reform and Development Plan (BERDP) Preparation; c) IIEP, HQ, BKK joint activity: Support to the revision on national education sector plan, Cambodia. 2\. Coordinate and facilitate capacity development webinars/seminars, capacity development workshop technical meetings, consultations, and other events organized/participated by the EPM team especially to the following key major events of the IQE section a) 2nd Asia-Pacific Regional Education Ministers’ Conference; b) Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD) 2022. 3\. Support in successful completion and preparation of relevant project reports on the ongoing extra-budgetary projection on - 526RAS1030: Costing and Financing SDG4-Education 2030 in the Asia-Pacific Region. 4\. Support and facilitate in the capacity development work on the systematic monitoring of Education 2030 agenda in the Asia-Pacific region especially on the IQE-UIS joint initiative on regional, sub-regional and national benchmarking process which will be carried out within the context of SDG-4 mid-term review. 5\. Maintain and update various EPM-IQE webpages, communication materials, programme/project brief with a focus on content and usability. 6\. Assist in monitoring of project budgets, resource allocation, extra-budgetary project proposal(s), project monitoring reports project communication materials, etc.. 7\. Undertake other tasks of the IQE Section as directed by the Programme Specialist and the Chief of Section. **DELIVERABLES AND TIMEFRAME** ------------------------------ ***Deliverables*** Each month, relevant deliverable technical materials and activity completion report will be required.
