Objective:
World Vision is responding to the refugee migrant crisis in BiH by responding to the different needs of migrants - children and adults through psychosocial support, education, health, FI and NFI which are implemented through several different projects. Within the project “Social Participation of People on the move and Local Population in Host Communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina” funded by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ),The Project Officer will be responsible for Improving the Work and Life Skills of People on the Move and population of the Host communities through developing individual capacities of people on the move and the local population through trainings for life skills, educational, vocational (employment related) activities and Strengthening the exchange and dialogue formats to promote social and cultural participation through joint events in local communities, thus contributing to strengthened resilience of people on the move as well as people in local communities while creating inclusive environment in host communities.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure high quality project implementation with due respect to donor requirements and WVI regulations and standards
- Together with Project Coordinator, prepare the plan for implementation of the project activities, according to Humanitarian Minimum Standards in emergency
- Facilitate project activities according to plan, and current trends and situation in reception centers and local host communities
- In cooperation with Project Coordinator, coordinate, facilitate and monitor project activities within refugee/migrant camps and local host communities, ensuring that activities are implemented according to WV Safeguarding policies and minimum standards in Humanitarian action
- Maintain written track record of all project-related communication and agreements. Keep all project-related documentation on file
- Visit communities to build relationships in order to sensitize communities on migrant/refugee situation. With support of Project Coordinator, coordinate with NGOs in field accordingly.
- Assists in organization of project meeting, seminars, training and workshop for target population.
- Ensure information related to Migrants/refugees, children and families are kept confidential.
- Participate at the Refugee/Migrant Camp coordination meeting as necessary and nurture the quality of existing partnerships with partners (Refugee/migrant Camps Management, local communities and community leaders, municipality/cantonal officials and other project stakeholders) within the parameters of the project
Participate in Coordination meetings/working groups as required.
Promote and undertake the collection of documentation of good practices and synthesis on lessons learned from Emergency responses; Document success stories and provide inputs as requested
- Ensure that regular project progress updates on project achievements (daily, weekly and monthly) are provided on timely manner to Project Coordinator
- Ensure record keeping and periodical progress of the project implementation as per reporting plan.
- Review on regular basis project details, deliverables and scheduled s as per project Implementation Plan.
- Together with Emergency Response Project Manager ensure progress and final reports are produced on time, in quality manner as per donor requirements.
- Be aware of the Humanitarian and Emergency Affairs (HEA) standards and operational imperatives as well as the National Disaster Preparedness Plan (NDPP).
- All other organizational, emergency response and project related matters, as directed by Emergency Response Project Manager
