**Project Officer GBV Innovation project: Advancing Economic Empowerment of GBV Survivors in Humanitarian Settings through Evidence and Localized Action for Gender Transformative Change

Who are we?** Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is looking for a highly qualified Project Officer to support a multi-country project on generating evidence on gender-based violence and economic recovery integrated programming funded by United States Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration Department. The project is managed globally by DRC`s Global Protection Unit, Department for Strategy, Programme and Learning (SPL), together with Women’s Refugee Commission (WRC), and with in-country implementation from DRC and local partners in Jordan, Lebanon, Uganda, and Niger.

About the job The Project Officer will be based at the Global Protection Unit at DRC´s Headquarters in Copenhagen, leading the implementation of a global donor roundtable and four in-country donor roundtables. In addition, the Project Officer will provide administrative and logistical support to events, workshops, trainings, and support with the development of visibility materials. The project officer will report to DRC´s Global Project Manager, and also work closely with the Global Project Finance and Grants Officer, The Global Project co-lead from Women´s Refugee Commission (WRC), DRC colleagues and local partner staff in the four countries of implementation, as well as international donors. The tasks will include, but not be limited to:

Events planning and management:

  • In collaboration with the Global Project Leads from DRC and WRC, and WRC´s Advocacy Focal Point based in Geneva, lead on the organisation of a global roundtable.
  • Liaise and coordinate with donors, and other key stakeholders including local partners in the four countries of implementation.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support, including procurement, planning, organisation and follow-up of the donor roundtable and other events, meetings, trainings, workshops, and conferences.
  • Communicate with participants and arrange for travel, hotel and transport arrangements for the donor roundtable and other events.

Development of visibility products and workshop materials:

  • Support the development of visibility and training materials for the donor roundtables and other events.

Project monitoring and Reporting

  • Support with the development of documentation and reporting of the outcomes of the donor roundtables and other events.
  • Support the Global Project, Finance and Grants Officer and the Global Program lead with monitoring budget expenditures related to the donor roundtables and other events.
  • Other project/administrative related tasks

    About you:

To be successful in this role, you should have experience in project management and mobilising and networking with a variety of stakeholders.

Required:

  • 2-3 years’ experience in events and project management, including finance, logistical and administrative aspects. Experience and/or interest in matters relating to prevention and response to gender-based violence, forced displacement and women´s economic empowerment is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience in communication, public relations, and the use of social media for a civil society organization.
  • Excellent skills in MS Word, Excel, Sharepoint, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills and ability to work effectively in a team consisting of a variety of different and diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in report writing.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
  • Self-motivated and ability to take initiative.
  • Fluency in English

Desired:

  • Master’s degree in relevant field.
  • Fluency in French and /or Arabic is a plus.
  • Previous work experience with the Danish Refugee Council.
  • Experience in developing visibility materials.

We offer: Workplace: Copenhagen (DRC HQ), Denmark with possible travel to project locations and Geneva. Please note that you need to have right to work in Denmark in order to be considered for this role. Start date: As soon as possible. Duration: Temporary due to funding, 5-6 months depending on the start date. Contract type: National. Please note that you need to have right to work in Denmark in order to be considered for this role. Salary: In accordance the agreement between DRC and AC at “fuldmægtig” level. This is a national position for which local terms and conditions apply.
