This is an exciting opportunity to take a leading role in shaping and coordinating the strategic direction of the Global Strategy Seminar 2024. This person will together with the colleagues in Strategic Planning and Development (SPD) Section collaborate closely with senior managers, ensuring the seminar reflects our global perspective and resonates with all country offices.

What we are looking for

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is seeking a Project Manager – Global Strategy Seminar, with experience preferably within strategy, change management and project management.

What you will do

Some of your specific responsibilities include:

  • Consult with senior managers, reference groups, head of strategy, planning and development to identify key themes and objectives for the seminar (this work is under progress).
  • Ensure a collaborative environment, encouraging co-building efforts with country offices.
  • Facilitate the process of session development, providing guidance and support to presenters and stakeholders.
  • Document all processes, decisions, and plans in an organised manner, ensuring clarity and transparency for all involved parties.
  • Incorporate lessons learnt, where possible, from the 2023 seminar.
  • Oversee the logistical aspects of the seminar, (venue has already been selected) scheduling, and technology requirements in collaboration with the global identity adviser in external relations.
  • Develop and monitor a detailed project timeline, ensuring timely completion of all tasks leading up to the seminar.
  • Coordinate with various departments and stakeholders, ensuring alignment and effective communication.
  • Identify potential risks and challenges in the planning process, providing proactive solutions.
  • Gather feedback post-seminar to assess the effectiveness of the event and areas for improvement for future seminars and present to senior managers.

What you will bring

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience preferably within strategy, change management and project management.
  • Proven track record in coordinating large-scale events or seminars.
  • Familiarity with global strategy and development trends.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Good presentation skills and ability to present complex matters in an accessible manner.
  • Ability to engage and build teams.
  • Ability to interact with staff across the organisation.
  • Knowledge of NRC and the NRC Global Strategy.

What we offer

  • Duty station: Oslo, Norway. We are Open to applications from other NRC Rep Offices.
  • Contract: national contract, Temporary (6months to 1 year).
  • Salary/benefits: grade 9 on NRC’s regional salary scale, with accompanying terms and conditions.
