You have:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (agriculture, rural development, water engineering, business studies, social sciences etc.) with three years’ work experience.
- At least five years of experience in project management and administration, financial management, contract management, agreement compliance, sub-award management, and tracking project performance and costs.
- Proven ability to manage partnership relationships/consortiums, including effective coordination with host country government.
- Experience in partnership building and coordination with the donors, private sector, NGO and local community organizations.
- Experience and familiarity with a number of donor requirements, e.g. DFAT, EU, SHF, WFP; FAO; UNICEF; DFID; GF; GFFO, BHA, grants management.
- Fluency in English.
- Demonstrated strong analytical, managerial, leadership, communications and interpersonal skills.
- Proven experience in proposal writing and project reporting.
- Specific trainings on donor requirements e.g. DEC, g2g training, G2G Training, Europe Aid training and Security training.
- Strong analytical skills and high-level technical proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with ability to use these tools to collect and analyze data.
- Good business-oriented verbal, visual and written communication skills.

Project Manager- Nexus Project
The Role Summary:
This position has principal responsibility to provide operational oversight and project management of NEXUS project in Baidoa to achieve project objectives. The position holder will also provide the representation of the projects to regional manager, WV German support office, the donor, Local Authorities and regional government in South West state of Somalia, and other key stakeholders. Other key responsibilities include ensuring high quality implementation of project activities, grant management according to donor requirements and international accounting standards, timely and quality donor and other stakeholder reporting, and overall contribution to Child Well Being outcomes. The Project Manager will be accountable for delivering all project results. S/he will maintain communication with the project sub –grantees and oversee coordination of their technical activities within the project framework, work plan and budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Grant/Project Management
- Head the coordination and implementation of all sectors (FSL, H&N, WASH, protection and M&E) at the field level, ensuring that the programme’s ultimate, intermediate and immediate Outcomes are achieved.
- Plan, direct and co-ordinate all activities of multiple sectors
- Coordinate and manage project implementation (activities, budget and project documentation) in line with proposals, strategies and donor requirements.
- Lead project sub-grantee (partner) agencies and stakeholders in participatory planning of project activity implementation, ensuring adherence to technical standards, best practices and donor guidelines.
- Provide timely input and contribution to the completion of annual work plans, reports and ensure grant management compliance for projects in alignment with donor and WV regulations.
- Ensure effective liaison with concerned local government officials, local communities, donor representatives and other stakeholders, making use of an appropriate accountability framework.
- Gather and compile project reports from sector managers, and prepare overall performance progress reports detailing achievements against plan and variance on a regular basis.
- Provide to the project team with standard documents/tools to ensure standardized approach to the operations.
- Design strategies, create partnerships and interventions to ensure project activities and implementation strategies are following donor requirements. Ensure strong communication and coordination with all team members as a means to effectively achieve program.
- Conduct regular capacity building of partners staff as per the capacity needs assessment
Budget Management.
- Manage project budget within approved spending levels and ensure accurate and timely financial reports to donors
- In conjunction with sector managers, Technical specialists and Finance and Support services Manager, ensure grant/project compliance whereby project expenditures are reasonable, allocable, and prudent and spent in accordance with donor rules and regulations to ensure compliance with external audit.
- Manage project start-ups; project close out and ensured project deliverables achieved within time, cost and scope.
- Supports in overseeing adherence to contractual agreements, recommend amendments and contract extensions, advise concerned parties with respect to contractual rights/obligations (be on top of what is happening in the sector, following up on the quality, escalate well in advance if things aren’t going well with the suppliers/contractor.
- Work with regional finance team to ensure timely submission of variance explanation upon receipt of monthly project/sector financial report preparation and submission of accurate financial reports for the project;
Monitoring, Reporting, Documentation & Knowledge Management;
- Maintain effective project quality assurance mechanisms, including monitoring system for tracking of project progress against indicators, activities and key project milestones, reporting, evaluation, and communication systems.
- Work closely with Technical specialists to develop Standard Operating Procedures for monitoring, reporting, documentation and knowledge management, including establishment of standard tools and systems for documentation and information sharing of project progress, best practices, lessons learnt and success stories.
- Track project deliverables using appropriate project management tools
- Conduct routine visits to project / implementing partner project sites for purposes of monitoring and operational support.
- Submit timely accurate and quality reports that meet donor requirements.
- Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders
- Work closely with the Technical support unit, Programme Development Unit, and donors in identifying and documenting best practices, lessons learnt and relevant human-interest stories for publication and dissemination
- Work closely with the communications and advocacy team on providing project content for all media publications and to develop and disseminate technical-advocacy pieces to donors and external stakeholders
- Organize quarterly project review meetings, in coordination with the M&E team, to review progress against planning, adapt strategy and share learning;
Donor relations and engagements
- In coordination with TSU represent the Project and World Vision in engagement opportunities with the donor, the State government, UN agencies, clusters, implementing and technical partners and other relevant stakeholders.
- Represent World Vision at field meetings with the Government and project counterparts to provide updates on program implementation.
- Maintain open communication with sub-grantees, other INGO’s, UN agencies and other relevant external partners regarding project initiatives for enhanced coordination

Working Environment
- Office-based in Baidoa, South West State with domestic travel required from time to time.
