Project Manager-Food Security & Livelihoods

The Role:

This position has principal responsibility to provide operational oversight and project management of all Livelihood Projects to achieve project objectives. The position holder will also provide the representation of the projects to donor(s), Local Authorities and regional government in Jubaland, and other key stakeholders. Other key responsibilities include ensuring high quality implementation of project activities, grant management according to donor requirements and international accounting standards, timely and quality donor and other stakeholder reporting, and overall contribution to Child Well Being outcomes. The Project manager will be accountable for delivering all project results. S/he will maintain communication with the project sub –grantees and oversee coordination of their technical activities within the project framework, work plan and budget.

Essentials:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field like agriculture, livestock, rural development, veterinary or any other related one.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in project management and administration, financial management, contract management, agreement compliance, sub award management, and tracking project performance and costs.
  • Proven ability to manage partnership relationships/consortiums including effective coordination with host country government
  • Experience in partnership building and coordination with the donors, private sector, NGO and local community organizations.
  • Experience and familiarity with a number of donor requirements, e.g. DFAT, EU, SHF, WFP; FAO; UNHCR; UNICEF; DFID; GF; USAID grants management.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical, managerial, leadership, communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Positive collaboration and facilitation skills; Leadership of large and diverse teams
  • Proven experience in proposal writing and project reporting
  • Specific trainings on donor requirements e.g. DEC, g2g training, GoG Training, Europe Aid training and Security training
  • Strong analytical skills and high-level technical proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with ability to use these tools to collect and analyze program data.

Working Environment:

The position will be based in Dollow, Jubaland State of Somalia.
