Join our team to manage the Gender Equality Project in Solomon Islands.

You have:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in community development or in a relief setting with management experience
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Child Protection and Community Development
  • Good interpersonal skills and cross-cultural sensitivity
  • Effective in written and oral communication; able to speak and write with a good standard of English
  • Good knowledge of community development, via working on projects in communities
  • High level of organizational and management skills
  • Knowledgeable in Child Protection Standards
  • Strong knowledge in computer applications including word processing and spreadsheets
  • Must be a team builder committed to the transfer of knowledge
  • Good training and facilitation skills
  • Willing to travel around the province and visit / stay in communities (up to 75% of time)
  • Background/understanding of child protection laws

World vision Solomon Islands is committed to promote gender equality in Solomon Islands. The Gender Equality Project focuses on this. It is currently being implemented in 10 communities, 5 in Honiara and 5 in Malaita. She/he will be responsible for managing 1 Project coordinator, 1 DME, and 2 CDFs. She/he will directly report to the SPM for Gender and Child Protection.

  • Project management and Reporting
  • Representation and Management
  • People Leadership and team management
  • Capacity building

KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATION:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in community development or in a relief setting with management experience
