Result of Service- Project management plans - Project progress reports - Analyses of plans and designs of major projects, facilities and utility services - Analyses and evaluation reports of project documents like specifications, bills of quantities, project proposals and feasibility studies - Establishment of technical data on materials, size, dimensions, quantities and costs for projects - Coordination of the delivery of material to project sites - Reports on performance of Contractors vis-à-vis timelines and specifications - Supervision of the QA/QS teams - Reports on all materials and equipment delivered on site for compliance to standards and specifications - Reports on all technical issues especially specifications, monitoring, and quality assurance - Ensuring projects' environmental impacts are minimized - Project resource utilization and cashflow reports - Certification of invoices - Preparation of project completion reports - Expert analyses of problems and advice on design and construction projects - Management and filing of accurate project records - Performance reports on Contractors - Tracking and closure of Task Orders, Calls and Tickets related to projects

Duties and Responsibilities The Project Manager reports to Engineering Unit and will be responsible for planning, scheduling and monitoring and advise on the quality of the execution of a wide range of engineering projects and work/project progress reporting: - Advise and recommends on the timely and quality delivery of Engineering Projects outputs in the HQ and Sectors (team sites), and - Analyze and advise on the planning and design of special major projects and facilities such as buildings, camp sites, roads, water supply systems, wastewater disposals, waste management yards and related structures and other engineering activities in the field. - Prepare, evaluate, review and revise project documents, and analyze design specifications included in project proposals for accuracy and feasibility. - Assist the individual Site Managers, Field Engineers and QA/QS specialists in the implementation of the projects as per technical specifications and plans agreed with the client. - Coordinate material supply chains with other sections and units in the mission such as Movement Control, Aviation, Warehouse & Distribution. - Bring to the attention of the Chief Engineer if the contractor is not meeting timelines by managing detailed MS Project schedules or where quality and safety standards are not being met and provide solutions for improving the quality of work. - Oversee the QA/QS activities of contractors in the areas of monitoring, change of orders, contract compliance, quality control and assurance, safety and documentation of all interaction - Ensure that all materials and equipment related to projects meet the required standards and specifications - Report to the Chief Engineer on all technical issues including but not limited to technical specifications, monitoring, and quality assurance. - Conduct technical studies on engineering topics, developing guidelines for the general planning and maintenance programs and facilities. - Conduct site visit for survey and supervision of project activities in team sites and sectors in the UNISFA area of operation - Develop technical data regarding materials, size, dimensions, and quantities and costs for the repair of damaged buildings, facilities and systems to determine feasibility of repairs or replacement. - Ensuring that the environmental impact of the projects is limited. - Manage and oversee project costs by means of resources and cash-flow plans in MS Project. - Assist to Manage invoice and payment process for timely payment of contractors. - Ensure that Project is completed to a satisfactory standard before final payment is authorized. - Prepare necessary engineering support documents and drawings in the execution and implementation of critical projects, such as the construction of sector Hubs, Unit camp, aviation hubs, etc. - Provide expert analysis of problems and advise on design and construction, leading to timely completion of projects in accordance with specifications and quality standards, developments and management of detailed project schedules for said refurbishment projects. - Performs other tasks as assigned by Chief of Engineering Unit

Qualifications/special skills First-level university degree (4 year Bachelor's degree) in civil engineering or related engineering field is required.

A minimum of seven (7) years after bachelor’s degree with progressively working experience in the field of Infrastructure (roads), construction planning, Project Management & construction supervision and management including quality control and safety implementation is required.

Experience with a United Nations field mission is desirable.

Experience in managing teams and complex projects/processes that included extensive communication, coordination and facilitation requirements is desirable.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, MS Project is required.

Ability to operate AUTOCAD is desirable.

Familiarization with use of computers and office software and handling of web-based management systems is required.

Languages Fluency in written and spoken English is required. Knowledge of a second official UN language is an added advantage.
