Major Activities

Technical Knowledge

  • Follow up with SC on printing and ensure distribution of IEC materials to raise awareness of the benefits of OPVs.
  • Conduct joint supportive supervision with the government and partners, mainly BCZS members and health area nurses.
  • Support AFP case finding with government and partners and facilitate the transport of samples within the required time.
  • Follow up on payment of compensation during the campaign, validate and collect supporting documents
  • Monitor the payment of compensation for volunteers and their volunteer supervisors from the partner health zone, validate and collect supporting documents
  • Support the holding of evaluation meetings with volunteers at the health zone level and at the health area level and generate reports with recommendations or action points to follow

Capacity Development

  • Support training for health care providers in the partner health zone in partnership with the health zone.
  • Support integrated training on surveillance of IPE and other infectious diseases for CHWs in partnership with the Health Zone

Learning and Evidence Base Development, Dissemination and Knowledge Management

  • Assist research in the field as part of research team, field preparation, field supervision
  • Assist the project ME (Monitoring and Evaluation) in data interpretation and writing reports that show evidence of results and impacts
  • Identify best/promising practices and success stories for documentation and dissemination

Resource Mobilization

  • Assist the CGPP project Coordinator to contribute to the development of project (grants and Responses) proposals that have Health component
  • Assist the CGPP health project Coordinator to provide key ground data and information to the GAM (Grant Acquisition and Management) team

Quality Assurance

  • Assist the Project ME to write, and ensure timely submission from the project of monthly/quarterly/ annual Health activity reports and any grant-specific reports
  • Assist the CGPP Health project Coordinator in monitoring, supervision and evaluation of the health project

Education, knowledge & skills, licenses preferred, and all experiences required to perform this position in a fully competent manner :

  • University degree in Medical Sciences (Medical Doctor)
  • Computer literate in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Lotus note, etc.

Additional work experience required as a minimum qualification for this position :

  • At least three years experiences working in international NGOs
  • At least two years experiences in Health program management immunization program is preferred
  • Proven experience in managing community projects
  • Project management and design experience
  • Project implementation and monitoring and evaluation
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, time management, demonstrated leadership and good management ability.
  • Excellent French communication skills (oral and written).
  • A working knowledge of English
  • A working knowledge of the local language

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Experience in Immunization and Disease surveillance
  • Experience in health Zone management
  • Theory of change and logical framework development
  • Database management, statistical skills and ability to critically evaluate health data

Additional work experience preferred for this position:

  • Professional experience in training/capacity building
  • Multi-sectoral/integrated program design and implementation

Travel & work environment details :

  • The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 70% of the time.
