You have:
- Advanced University degree in information technology, data management or related fields is required.
- A first-level university degree in combination with 2 additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in database and data management and analysis.
- At least 4 years of experience in programme management support.
- Experience in developing and using PowerBI data visualization tools.
- Experience in excel database management and programming in excel.
- Experience in facilitating small events and delivering trainings is an advantage.
- Experience with UN at international level is an advantage.
- Fluency in oral and written English is required.

Duties and Responsibilities The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the leading global environmental authority that sets the global environmental agenda, promotes the coherent implementation of the environmental dimension of sustainable development within the United Nations system and serves as an authoritative advocate for the global environment.
UNEP's Asia and the Pacific Office geographically serves 41 countries across the region to promote and implement sustainable development solutions. It assists countries of the region pursue sustainability, particularly in their implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
UNEP regional office for Asia and the Pacific participates to the activities of UN Country Teams (UNCTs) in the region. To enable a meaningful participation, clear information on UNEP overall projects in the countries is needed, as well as to inform strategic high-level dialogues of UNEP Senior Management with countries. To cover this need as well as to better understand UNEP Projects footprint in the region and better planning, the regional office maintains a database of UNEP projects and produces related analysis through data visualization via PowerBI.
The purpose of the consultancy is to maintain, update and further develop, as needed, the project database and associated PowerBI dashboard to inform UNEP engagements with countries, donors, UNCTs and other stakeholders.
Under the direct supervision by the Programme Management Officer in UNEP Asia and the Pacific Office and in close collaboration with Regional Subprogramme Coordinators and other relevant colleagues, the consultant will be required to conduct and achieve the following outputs and deliverables.
Output 1. Database and dashboard management and maintenance Deliverable: a. Functioning and up to date database and dashboard for the whole period of the consultancy
Output 2. Analysis of database information at regional and subregional scale Deliverable: a. A document describing the spread of UNEP project portfolio (current and upcoming) in each subregion of Asia and the Pacific b. A document describing the spread of UNEP project portfolio (current and upcoming) in Asia and the Pacific
Output 3. Analysis of database information at country level Deliverable: a. A Document describing the spread of UNEP project portfolio (current and upcoming) in 6 selected countries in the region b. A Document describing the spread of UNEP project portfolio (current and upcoming) in 6 selected additional countries in the region
Output 4. Development of new features in the database and dashboard as need arises Deliverable: a. Functioning new features that respond to needs of the office
Output 5. Update ROAP database user manual Deliverable: a. An updated version of the user manual, including all new features developed to the date
Output 6. On-line trainings, open sessions and presentations on the database and dashboard at least one set of training per each quarter Deliverable: a. Training/sessions recordings and materials
Output 7. Hand over materials Deliverable: a. Final activity summary and hand-over note

Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required.
