Coordinate humanitarian projects effectively in Myanmar

You have:

  • At least 3 years of experience from working in humanitarian context in UN, I/LNGOs.
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in protection mainstreaming.
  • Working proficiency in multi-sectoral emergency response, such as food, NFIs and WASH.
  • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts.
  • Very good command of oral and written English.
  • Experience in capacity building.
  • Strong coordination and interpersonal skills.
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
  • Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within Myanmar.

Position: Project Coordinator

Grade: 7

Reports to: Manager (direct line management) and

Protection Technical Lead (technical line management)

Supervision of: 4 (TBC)

Duty station: Yangon, Myanmar

Travel: 50%

Duration and type of contract: one year (extendable based on performance and funding)

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience from working in humanitarian context in UN, I/LNGOs.

Responsibilities

  1. Compliance and adherence to NRC policies, tools, guidance and procedures.
  2. Contribute to strategy development, project proposals, and provide input on needs and gaps.
  3. Implement delegated portfolio (project activities, budget and project documentation) assigned by the Manager in line with proposals, strategies and donor requirements, and ensure high technical quality.
  4. Support in the development of technical guidance and SoPs.
  5. Build protection mainstreaming capacities of project partners’ staff and non-staff and promote their ownership of safe programming.
  6. Identify, promote and share ideas for improvement and necessary changes in programming and advocacy.
  7. Support in ensuring that key learnings are extracted, incorporate them into the plan of action.
  8. Provide regular progress reports.
  9. Ensure proper filing of documents.
