Overview

Coordinate and implement projects to end Neglected Tropical Diseases.

You have:

  • Minimum qualification; Degree in Public Health or Project Management.
  • Master/MPhil in Public Health or Project Management will be an advantage.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in public health or project management.
  • Working experience in community development is preferred.
  • Experience with NGO or donor funding is an added advantage.
  • Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Implementation

  • Assist the NTDP/MOHs and implementing partners on identifying complementary interventions funded by USAID and/or other donors in the areas of NTDs, Nutrition, WASH, and Education and assist the MOHs on the implementation of actions that facilitate the collaboration between programs;
  • Ensure that project activities are carried out in a timely manner per USAID approved work plan, and that the project achieves results in line with its annual approved work plan, and that the project achieves results in line with its annual Act |West targets in each program area.
  • Work closely with Ghana Act|West consortium particularly FHI 360, American Leprosy Mission, Deloitte and NTDP to review Ghana NTD Sustainability Plan (2021-2025) and document learnings, challenges and future outlook
  • Support the NTDP, Act|West Consortium to hold a political validation and bilateral agreement events on NTDs Sustainability.

Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, Learning

Monitoring:

Ensure tracking of implementation progress of key WV-supported coordination initiatives

Intra-Country Coordination Committee for NTDs (ICCC) sub-committee workplans Ghana Schistosomiasis (SCH)/Soil-Transmitted Helminthiasis (STH) activities. (including TOR finalization, SCH data review process) NTD, SHEP, WASH Joint Action Plan finalization & operationalization. Finalization of draft Advocacy, Communication & Social Mobilization (ACSM) Strategic Plan for NTDs.

Abstract Development:

Identify appropriate global cross-sector platforms and conferences; develop draft technical abstracts for review by Cross-Sector Manager and WVUS technical team for submission to conference organizers

Communication:

  • Work closely with WV Communications Department on the development of draft blogs, success stories, briefs for review and dissemination on relevant media platforms (Facebook, twitter, websites etc).
  • Develop powerpoint presentations relating to specific activities as assigned by Cross-Sector Coordination manager.

Knowledge Management / Learning:

Document lessons learned and best practices on the project.

Procurement & Financial Management

  • Ensure the timely preparation and submission of disbursement and procurement requests for project activity implementation
  • Liaise with Supply Chain to ensure that input supplies and other materials are procured/delivered in a timely manner.

Reporting

  • Ensure weekly priorities are developed for review and onward submission to WVUS
  • Facilitate and report (monthly, quarterly, semi-annually and annually) on WVG Act|West activities.
  • Develop meeting notes/minutes/ and activity reports for all WV-internal and external events.

Resource Acquisition & Proposal Development

  • Provide technical support to Health Technical Programme & other relevant teams on developing concept notes and proposals in relation to NTDs thematic areas (including MERCK pilot project,)
  • Support the NTDP to identify potential local and external funding mechanisms towards NTDs. Sustainability.

Internal and External Relations

  • Develops and maintains collaborative and beneficial relationships with key stakeholders across sectors, relevant government agencies, bilateral and other NGOs and consistently maintained and viewed as a knowledgeable resource in their technical area.

Other

  • Represents the organization and/or Institute to external entities at professional meetings and conferences.
  • Coordinate and facilitate all World Vision Ghana-led external workshops.
  • Participate in all external meetings as assigned by Cross-Sector Coordination manager.
  • Preparation towards World Vision bi-weekly virtual and Ghana Act|West Partners meetings.
  • Developing of draft terms of reference, agenda and all other relevant materials for review by Cross-Sector Coordination Manager.
  • Perform any other tasks as required by management

The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:

  • Educational level required: Minimum qualification; Degree in Public health or project management. Master/MPhil in Public Health or Project Management will be an advantage
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in public health or project management

  • Other: Working experience in community development is preferred.

Experience with NGO or donor funding is an added advantage

  • Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.
  • Attend and participate/lead in daily devotions and weekly Chapel services.
  • Perform other duties as required.
