Overview

Assist in the coordination of WASH projects and monitor partner compliance.

You have:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited academic institution preferably in business administration, finance, economics, or any other relevant field with three years of relevant experience.
  • An accredited school diploma with five years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience in humanitarian response in WASH or a related field like Health, Environmental Health or Community Development.
  • Operational field experience in refugee camps required.
  • Project implementation and management experience, including project monitoring and reporting.
  • Fluency in English and Bengali is required.
  • Chittagonian language is an added advantage.

Contract

This is a G-5 contract. This kind of contract is known as General Service and related categories. It is normally only for nationals. It usually requires 5 years of experience, depending on education. More about G-5 contracts.

Under the direct supervision of the Programme Manager WASH and the general supervision of National Programme Officer WASH, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting liaison with the grants team on all aspects of project implementation through implementing partners in the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) programme in Cox’s Bazar. Once recruited, the incumbent will be based in the IOM Sub Office located in Cox’s Bazar, with frequent field visits to the seven camps where IOM is the Area Focal Agency (AFA) as needed.

Qualifications

Education • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited academic institution preferably in business administration, finance, economics, or any other relevant field with three years of relevant experience; or • An accredited school diploma with five years of relevant professional experience.

Experience • Experience in humanitarian response in WASH or a related field like Health, Environmental Health or Community Development. • Operational field experience in refugee camps required. • Project implementation and management experience, including project monitoring and reporting an advantage.

Languages Fluency in English and Bengali is required Chittagonian language is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

The incumbent will be assigned to the following tasks: 1. Assist in the day-to-day coordination of implementing partner activities to support timely and quality delivery of WASH interventions in line with project objectives and contractual requirements. 2. Monitor implementing partner performance through regular field visits, progress reviews, and verification of reported outputs against approved workplans, indicators, and technical standards and report any deviations to the supervisor. 3. Assist the national program officer in reviewing the implementing partner workplans, budgets, procurement plans, and narrative reports, and provide timely feedback to strengthen compliance, reporting quality, and implementation efficiency. 4. Track project implementation milestones, deliverables, and reporting deadlines, and support timely follow-up on outstanding actions and corrective measures as per the implementing partner commitments. 5. Assist the grants unit in the development and maintenance of partnership monitoring tools, including performance trackers, compliance checklists, and risk monitoring frameworks that align to the WASH program. 6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date partnership records, filing systems, and compliance trackers for implementing partner deliverables as per contractual obligations and IOM policy on grant management. 7. Coordinate with implementing partners and grants unit to follow up on compliance-related submissions, address documentation gaps, and follow up on timely completion of spot checks/audits, reporting, and verification requirements. 8. Consolidate implementing partner reports and field monitoring findings to support preparation of internal updates, donor reports, and programme performance analyses. 9. Assist in organizing field meetings with implementing partners and IOM Camp Monitoring and Coordination project assistants to identify implementation challenges, risks, and capacity gaps among implementing partners, and support the provision of technical guidance and corrective actions to enhance programme quality and accountability to affected populations. 10. Assist the national program officer on administrative partnership aspects such as tracking partnership documentation, agreements, reporting schedules, amendments, and required approvals. 11. Join the grants team in field monitoring visits for implementing partners in line with the IOM policy on grant management. 12. Perform other duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor or Programme Manager.
