The mission of the Country Support Unit in Supply Division is to support the Supply Function in Country Offices by providing helpdesk support and resolution to supply issues, identifying field challenges and knowledge gaps and producing and disseminating solutions in response to those needs in the area of supply.

The Country Support Project Associate will provide support in the roll-out and adoption of two major projects with high impact for the Supply Function: the launch of the new Supply Manual and the adoption of Service Gateway in Supply Division and Country Offices.

How can you make a difference?

The incumbent will provide support throughout the different phases of the projects, ensuring high quality, accuracy and consistency, while working in close collaboration with other business units and centers in Supply Division, as well as Regional Offices and Country Offices. He/she will act as the Country Support Unit's focal point in all required exchanges, planning and organization of key knowledge and engagement activities for the field and other stakeholders.

Summary of key functions/accountabilities:

Under the supervision of the Knowledge Management Manager (KM Manager) and in collaboration with other business units, the Country Support Project Associate will carry out the following tasks:

  • Providing daily support on timely planning, execution and monitoring of the projects workplans;
  • Assisting in monitoring the progress throughout the projects implementation, roll-out and adoption, in collaboration with other team members, business units and stakeholders;
  • Providing required support in mapping and organizing/conducting project activities;
  • Assisting the KM Manager in coordinating the exchange of information among the project partners, acting as a focal point for issues resolution and knowledge exchange;
  • Assist the KM Manager in the preparation of any required impact/benefit assessments and reports on the projects status;
  • Assist the Country Support unit in planning, designing and developing all necessary materials, resources, tools and any other solutions to implement the activities in accordance to the workplans;
  • Perform other duties of similar nature assigned by KM Manager;
  • User engagement and training existing and new Service Gateway Fulfiller Groups and other users;
  • Testing across systems, such as SharePoint and Service Gateway;
  • Liaison and daily collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the KM Manager

To qualify as a champion for every child you will have…

Required:

  • Completion of secondary education.
  • Six (6) years of relevant work experience preferably in project management, communications or international relations
  • Good knowledge in office software packages (such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent technical competencies in IT, communications, analytical and interpersonal skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Valid work permit and residency in Denmark at the time of submitting the application. Note that the selected candidate is responsible for obtaining any required extension of their residency permit as an extension cannot be dependent on an employment with UNICEF.

Desirables:

  • Certification in business administration, communications or international relations.
  • Project management experience using established frameworks.
  • Project implementation experience in UN setting.
  • Experience with multi-stakeholder engagement and communications.
  • Knowledge of another official UN language (French, Spanish, Arabic, Russian, Chinese).
