Project Associate
Contract
This is a UNV International Youth contract. This kind of contract is known as International UN Volunteer. It is normally internationally recruited only. More about UNV International Youth contracts.
Eligibility criteria
Candidate age: between 18 and 29 throughout the entire duration of their assignment. Nationals of the country of assignment are not eligible, except the assignments in Headquarters duty stations.
Description of task
Under the direct supervision of the Head of the Enabling Innovation Unit of the Capacity Development and Innovation Branch, the International UN Youth Volunteer will under the following tasks:
- Contributing to research on horizon-scanning, assess private sector entities and companies for their corporate social responsibility following internationally approved guidelines and standards;
- Assisting in the development of presentations and external communications;
- Supporting the development and management of networks with regard to their scientific contributions to the horizon scanning process, production of policy and foresight briefs and the enabling conditions for environmental innovation;
- Assisting in the organization of meetings, including preparation of agendas, minutes and organizing follow-up activities;
- Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications/Requirements
Required degree level:
Bachelor degree or equivalent
Education - Additional Comments:

- A masters’ degree in an environment related field will be an added advantage
Required experience:
Experience remark:
- Demonstrated experience for up to 2 years in economics and corporate social responsibility is an asset;
- Motivated to contribute towards peace and development and to serve others;
- Good interpersonal, networking and communication skills;
- Willingness to contribute and work as part of a team;
- Flexible and open to learning and new experiences;
- Respect for diversity and adaptability to other cultures, environments and living conditions;
- Fluency in spoken and written English is required, and knowledge of French is an asset;
- Previous experience as a volunteer and/or experience of another culture, (i.e. studies, volunteer work, internship) would be highly regarded;
- Computer skills (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, social media, and others).
Language skills:
- English(Mandatory), Level - Fluent
- French(Optional), Level - Working Knowledge
