In order to support Tajikistan in making progress in the achievement of SDG 4 and implementing its recently adopted National Strategy for Education Development for the period until 2030, the project aims to design textbooks, teaching and learning materials for selected STEM subjects based on competency-based curricula at the secondary education and VET level, train teachers as well as equip the teacher training institutes/centres in the areas of ICT and STEM. Within this project, the Ministry of Education and Science, as well as the Ministry of Labour, Migration and Employment of the Republic of Tajikistan, will be supported to strengthen the quality of education and competency-based education in STEM fields with the use of ICTs. Under the overall authority of the Director of UNESCO Almaty Cluster Office for Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, and the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator, the incumbent shall support the Project Coordinator with the implementation of the project “Strengthening Competency-Based and ICT-Enabled STEM and VET Education and Teacher-Training in Tajikistan”, focusing mainly on, but not limited to, technical backstopping, administrative and logistical support to the implementation of the project by preparing project documents, concept notes, reports, daily correspondence and other working documents as well as assisting with organizational and logistical matters of the project. More specifically, the incumbent shall carry out the following tasks: Long Description ---------------- 1\. Contribute to the implementation of Project activities: a) Assist in the documentation and reporting: research, locate, compile, review and update information and data used in the development of documents, work plans and budgets; b) Process data in/from automated systems in order to support the preparation of regular and budgetary/financial updates, report on project delivery, statistics and/or projections for use and scrutiny by the Project Coordinator; c) Contribute to the drafting of the Project-related documents, including Terms of Reference, concept notes, agendas, correspondence, and reports. Contribute to Project’s administrative and organizational aspects: a) Support the organization and set up of meetings, events, workshops organized in the framework of the Project by drafting the event programme, workplan and budget; booking venues, hiring interpreters, etc. b) Assist with logistics, including contract and travel arrangements. Ensure official travel arrangements of local and international missions, including tickets, visas accommodations, security clearances along with other regular administrative procedures related to the missions of the project in accordance with the Administrative Manual; c) Assist with procurement, establishing contracts, processing payments in accordance with the Administrative Manual; d) Assist in preparing all administrative and financial information pertaining to the Project. Contribute to maintaining relations with Project partners: a) Contribute to the maintenance of contacts with UNESCO's international and national partners: draft correspondence, answer queries. Contribute to the liaison with other UNESCO Centres, Institutes, Field Offices and HQ services, as needed, for the implementation of the Project, and as requested by the supervisor. b) Contribute to the liaison with the National Commission for UNESCO, national partners and Headquarters on activities of the project, as requested. c) Assist in providing inputs for publications, presentations, briefings, speeches and missions, including outreach materials, as needed. d) Develop a database of contacts of, and maintain relations with, the Project partners. 4\.
