Overview

Support implementation of Guba Region Project activities

You have:

  • University/Master’s degree on social and administrative sciences such as economics, statistics, business administration, political sciences, international relations, sociology, social work, development studies with a focus on rural and community development and/or a degree on agrarian sciences or agronomy with an understanding of social and economic dimensions of rural and agrarian contexts.
  • Working knowledge of English and Azerbaijani; Russian will be an asset.
  • Minimum 2 years of working experience in similar assignments (project/program management).
  • National of Azerbaijan or resident in the country with a regular work permit.

Technical Focus

Under the overall supervision of the FAO Representative (FAOR) in Azerbaijan, the direct supervision of the Assistant FAOR, operational supervision of relevant Program/Operations Officer, in close collaboration with Technical Team Leader and National Project coordinator, the project team and the technical experts (national and international) and the project counterparts, the Project Assistant will be responsible for the implementation of the following tasks:

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Support the Team of Agricultural Advisory Services (AAS) project in the implementation of pilot project activities in the Guba Region;
  • Provide timely assistance to a Regional Project Expert, National Project Coordinator and Technical Team Leader upon request in line with the work plan to be implemented in the pilot region according to the approved work plan;
  • Liaise between FAO, the national project team and the regional related ministries and institutions, coordinating their work;
  • Initiate and follow-through all necessary administrative actions, following FAO standard procedures and requirements;
  • Provide administrative support for the arrangements for workshops, training, seminars, recruitment of national consultants and field days as required according to the work plan;
  • Provide administrative support for field missions and experts for the AAS project;
  • Contribute to the arrangements of meetings, round tables and workshops;
  • Participate and assist in summarizing the results of surveys, strategy and AAS model development;
  • Support the development and implementation of the PR strategy for the project; assist the preparation of visibility materials and communication materials by providing necessary inputs and information that will be used in outreach and mass media campaigns;
  • Drafting minutes of meetings and sharing them in a timely matter;
  • Perform other duties upon request

Minimum Requirements:
