The incumbent will work under the overall authority of the Head of the UNESCO Office in Cairo, the direct supervision of the Programme Specialist for Education and the National Project Officer, and in close cooperation with the Unit for Technology and AI in Education within the Future of Learning and Innovation Division at UNESCO Headquarters. She/he is expected to provide project and administrative support to the implementation of the UNESCO-Huawei Funds-in-Trust project on ‘Technology-enabled Open Schools for All’ in Egypt. Long Description ---------------- The incumbent is expected to carry out the following tasks: - Coordinate arrangements for project-related travel; - Provide administrative and logistical support in organizing online and offline meetings, workshops, conferences, seminars, policy dialogues, and other project-related events; - Provide interpretation support during meetings when necessary; provide translation support (English to Arabic and vice-versa) on communications and other documents as requested; Long Description ---------------- - Support the drafting of project concept notes, proposals, briefing notes, meeting minutes, reports, infographics presentations, press releases, web articles and social media posts; - Support the development of information and advocacy materials; - Assist with the preparation and execution of procurement plans; - Assist in performing market research; - Request proposals and quotations from contractors and vendors; - Support the preparation of procurement documents, contracts and related amendments, and communications related to procurement; Long Description ---------------- - Support the monitoring of the delivery of goods and services, assisting the National Project Officer in following up with contractors to guarantee the smooth implementation of project activities; - Prepare and process payment requests; - Contribute to the budget monitoring of the project; - Provide assistance in the routine liaison with the donor and key national stakeholders of the project; - Maintain up-to-date project files and records and other supporting documentation; - Perform any other tasks as assigned by the management. **COMPETENCIES (Core / Managerial)** ------------------------------------ Accountability (C) Communication (C) Innovation (C) Knowledge sharing and continuous improvement (C) Planning and organizing (C) Results focus (C) Teamwork (C) **-** ----- For detailed information, please consult the [UNESCO Competency Framework](https://en.unesco.org/sites/default/files/competency_framework_e.pdf). ***Skills/Competencies*** - Good organizational, coordination and interpersonal skills - Solid written and oral communication skills, including an ability to prepare and present information concisely - Flexibility to adjust work schedules and priorities to provide quality and timely support and services; capacity to work effectively under pressure - Discretion, good sense of judgement and capacity to deal efficiently and tactfully with people of different cultural backgrounds - Ability to work in a team and to maintain effective working relationships in a multicultural environment. - Strong IT skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) **DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS** ---------------------------- ***Education*** Post-secondary courses/certificates/degrees in administration and/or project management ***Work Experience*** Work experience in the UN System or International Organization Experience in working with Government counterparts and education stakeholders Experience in implementing projects in the area of digital learning and innovation, and teacher development **REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS** --------------------------- ***Education*** Completed secondary, technical and/or vocational education ***Work Experience*** A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in project management assistance and/or administrative tasks **Footer** ---------- **“APPLICATION PROCESS”** ------------------------- Please note that all candidates must complete an on-line application and provide complete and accurate information.
