Organizational Setting

The Global Environment Facility (GEF) has approved the Government of India’s GEF6 Green Ag. Project titled, “Green-Ag: Transforming Indian agriculture for global environmental benefits and the conservation of critical biodiversity and forest landscapes”.

The project objective is to catalyze transformative change for India’s agricultural sector to support achievement of national and global environmental benefits and conserve critical biodiversity and forest landscapes. The project is organized around two components. The first component strengthens the enabling framework and institutional structures to mainstream bio-diversity (BD), sustainable land management (SLM), climate change mitigation (CCM) and sustainable forest management (SFM) policies, priorities and practices into India’s agricultural sector. The second component demonstrates replicable “Improved agricultural and conservation practices” for sustainable production, resilient livelihood advancements, habitat improvements, and delivery of tangible BD, LD, CCM, and SFM benefits.

The project is being implemented in five landscapes: i) Chambal Landscape (Madhya Pradesh), ii) Dampa landscape (Mizoram), iii) Similipal Landscape (Odisha), iv) Desert National park Landscape (Rajasthan) and v) Corbett- Rajaji Landscape (Uttarakhand).

Reporting Lines

Under the direct supervision of the Officer-In-Charge, FAO Representation in India/Project Director and guidance of the Administration and Operations Officer, the incumbent will undertake the following duties.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Type, format and draft routine correspondence as required. • Maintain attendance, leave records, personnel files of project staff and other files related to administration in both hard and soft copies, as required. • Assist in processing of renewals and extension of contracts of National Project Personnel and consultants hired under the project • Ensure timely submission of the monthly work done reports and time sheets of all project consultants for requisite approvals and timely processing of payments. • Managing the Green Ag office registry and archives under supervision of Admin and Operations Officer of all incoming and outgoing correspondence both soft and hard copies. • Assist Admin and Operations Officer in initiating and taking necessary approvals for processing the payments to the Operational Partners. • Ensure availability of office supplies and appropriate maintenance of project office equipment, and maintain inventory of equipments/ other procurements (Both online and in physical form). • Assist in the procurement of goods/services as required during the project activities. • Support the organization and administration of meetings, workshops and events (e.g. arranging for meeting rooms and other facilities) and preparing minutes of meetings as required. • Assist with arranging mission travels, and organizing transport, logistics, accommodation and taking approvals as required. • Draft minutes of meetings as and when required • Perform any other duties as requested by Officer-In-Charge/Project Director/ Admin and Operations Officer

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in any subject. • Working knowledge of English. • One year of relevant experience in the field of Administration/Operations… • National of India.
