**OVERVIEW** ------------ Post Number : ED/TA 032 Grade : G-4 Parent Sector : Education Sector (ED) Duty Station: Paris Job Family: Education Type of contract : Temporary Appointment Duration of contract : 1 year Recruitment open to : Internal and external candidates Application Deadline (Midnight Paris Time) : 13-MAR-2023 UNESCO Core Values: Commitment to the Organization, Integrity, Respect for Diversity, Professionalism ***(Only candidates who are entitled to work in France can apply to this position)*** **OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POST** ----------------------------------------- Under the overall authority of the Director of the Division for Education 2030, and the direct supervision of the Chief of the Section of Education for Inclusion and Gender Equality, the Project Assistant shall provide a range of administrative, financial and logistical support to the UNESCO Prize for Girls' and Women's Education and other extrabudgetary projects administered by ED/E30/IGE on girls' and women's education. In particular, the incumbent will: **1. Assist in the implementation of the UNESCO Prize for Girls' and Women's Education, including:** - Providing administrative, financial and logistical support to: the launch of the call for nominations; the preparation of the Jury and award ceremonies; and other events/campaigns initiated in the context of the Prize. - Providing administrative support to the Prize to ensure all files are complete, accurate and comply with UNESCO policies and procedures; prepare responses to correspondences and e-mails; maintain mailing/contact lists and the filing systems on the UNESCO Prize. - Preparing budgetary information in compliance with programme and budgetary requirements and financial regulations; initiate a variety of contractual documents and payments; prepare funds obligations; alert the supervisor of errors/omissions/discrepancies and undertake corrective action in UNESCO’s financial management platform (SAP). - Providing support to communications efforts (web, audio-visual and social media) and translate and polish language, as required. - Engaging with all stakeholders, the Jury and laureates, NGOs and permanent delegations, to ensure the visibility of the Prize. **2. Support the Section’s communications efforts linked to production and events, including:** - Coordinating the publication, production and translation processes, including liaison with the Division of Conferences, Languages and Documents (CLD) and the Knowledge Management Services (KMS) Unit - Supporting event-based communications including the planning and development of a range of materials to ensure the effective promotion of events internally and externally - Coordinating with contractor(s) on social media messaging and other visuals - Ensuring materials produced and event documents align with ED Sector branding requirements - Working closely with the communication officer, KMS and team members - Assisting with any other communication support as needed **3. Provide administrative, financial and logistical support to other extrabudgetary projects in the Section.** REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS ----------------------- **Education** - Completed secondary, technical and/or vocational education. **Work Experience** - Minimum three years of relevant work experience in administration. **Skills and competencies** - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to draft correspondence and proofreading capacity in required languages. - Excellent organizational and coordination skills. - Discretion and capacity to deal with people of different cultural backgrounds efficiently and tactfully. - Ability to work as part of a team, to take initiatives and to provide quality and timely support and services. - Flexibility to adjust work schedules and priorities. Capacity to work effectively under tight deadlines. - Excellent IT skills with proficiency in the use of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power point, etc.). **Languages** - Excellent knowledge of English or French and good knowledge of the other.
