The project builds on the Organization’s long-standing collaboration with public authorities, civil society organizations and local communities to support the protection of Great Zimbabwe and the preservation of its outstanding universal value. Within the project, UNESCO will rehabilitate; enhance the conservation efforts; support the development of sustainable tourism practices; and promote community engagement in the Great Zimbabwe National Monument to boost the cultural and sustainable tourism development of the site. Long Description ---------------- Within the framework of the above context, under the overall authority of the Regional Director and Representative of UNESCO Southern Africa and the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator and the Head of the Culture Unit, the incumbent will assist in the implementation of the Project by carrying out a range of procedural, administrative and operational tasks to help develop, implement and monitor project activities, ensuring timely and effective delivery is consistent with UNESCO rules and regulations. The Project Assistant shall undertake the following specific tasks: 1. Assist in planning and organising meetings, workshops, conferences, and other events relating to the Great Zimbabwe World Heritage Site Development Project, ensuring that all logistics such as hotel and conference bookings and transportation are in place. 2. Assist with the identification of services and sourcing of quotations. 3. Prepare draft TORs for various contracts for service providers supporting the Project. 4. Prepare payment requests and follow-up to ensure that service providers receive their funds on time. 5. Develop and implement a tracking system for all contracts to ensure that deliverables are submitted on time and report any delays to the Supervisor on time. 6. Follow-up with implementation partners to ensure timely delivery of work plans, budgets, and procurement plans for the project. 7.
