This is a UNV National Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Specialist contracts.

The UN Volunteer will work under the supervision of the Programme Manager to Provide Programme, Financial Management and Admin Support to the project team.

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Programme Manager or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UNV Programme Assistant will:

  1. Provide Programme Management Support
    • Support the Programme Manager organize field visits on a regular basis to monitor and follow up on the progress of programme activities. • Gather lessons learned and best practices and share them with the UN Women Project Team. • Draft formal correspondence, in both Arabic and English, as needed. • Take meeting minutes and draft short reports as needed. • Support organizing workshops, activities and events related to the programme interventions, as needed. • Support the project teams in collecting data for reporting. • Assist the programme team in reviewing and preparing documentation on the procurement of goods and services, and support contract tracking.

  2. Provide Financial Management Support
    • Support the programme team in the financial management of projects. • Prepare supporting documents for payments and financial reports. • Support the Programme and Finance Associate in reviewing financial submissions and verification of samples submitted by partners. • Support the Programme and Finance Associate to ensure timely and quality liquidation of partner advances.

  3. Provide Administrative Support • Provide administrative support to the programme team in the organization of events, meetings and workshops, etc. • Create and maintain files of correspondence/documents and electronically received information, and ensure up-to- date filing. Maintain both hardcopies and electronic copies of the office records and reference files on various subjects. • Prepare presentation material/slides in Power-point for presentations for the meetings/workshops and keep all papers ready for meetings.

  4. Support knowledge building and knowledge sharing, focusing on: • Participation in workshops and trainings as requested by the Project Manager. • Supporting in the preparation and implementation of dissemination plans of knowledge products. • Keeping up to date with the latest advancement in the field of information and knowledge sharing.

  5. Other • Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.

• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in programme support functions; including programme implementation, coordination, monitoring, and financial management support. • Experience working on humanitarian action is desirable; • Knowledge of the UN system is desirable;

The UN Volunteer will be working in Gaza.

As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials. The UN Volunteer will receive on monthly basis ILS 4,857 including wellbeing differential.
